What Emery did was just an embarrassment and flies in the face of the argument for fighting. Over/under on how long Berube lasts behind the bench?

Whatever, Holtby threw the first punch.

Whatever, Holtby threw the first punch.

Holy motherf---ing homer glasses. You should be embarrassed if you believe Holtby was the aggressor.

Hey, if you're going to throw a punch you better expect your target to defend himself.

Just stop.

Why? Gotta have fun somehow this season.

Holtby threw the first punch because emery said he didn't care that holtby didn't want to fight and told him to defend himself. Emery knew he was going to get an easy go of it and wanted something to make himself feel better about the game

Eh, who cares. The media will not impact the on-ice product. The media did not run Mike Richards out of town. That said, I'm all for benching Giroux. After Staal's tying goal Tuesday I didn't think he'd be in the lineup tonight. Trolling chippa won't even make this feel better. This team, except for Mason, should be absolutely embarrassed. Poor Lecavalier.

Does anyone know were I can get the video of Steve Coates talking about curves from last nights broadcast? I didn't see the entire segment.

Thanks

 It was about Adam Oates' philosophy regarding curves. I have read different articles that somewhat conflict with each other. I think last night Coatesy said Oates like heel/toe curves.

He really botched the explanation, and was talking about the incorrect curves when they were shown for comparison. What he was trying to say is that instead of wedge-like heel curves, Oates recommends a gradual bend starting at the heel with a slight toe-hook.

Also, since the 1-7 start the Flyers are 15-8-4. Once they got that week off to practice with Berube and Homer executed the Downie trade they have begun to figure it out. Chippa where you at?

Cool read about the Ed Snider Youth Foundation. I have a soft spot for this because I grew up in various parts and never knew that the sport of hockey exsited. It wasn't until my parents moved to the 'burbs that I got involved in this fantastic game. Mr. Snider isn't without his faults, but this is one thing I will always give him kudos for.

Any thoughts on the Braydon Coburn for a 1st, 3rd, and Radko Gudas? Don't know much about Gudas but from what I've read, he seems like a decent second or third pairing guy. On the whole I think I like the trade because we cleared Coburn's cap space and got rid of an aging overpriced player, picked up two decent draft picks, and even though Gudas seems like just an average depth D-man, he has NHL experience and could be a decent (and cheap) gap filler as we wait for our truckload of younger D-men to develop. I think this is a little bit of a steal for the Flyers in all honesty, but I see where the Bolts are coming from as well -- working on the basis that they're a real contender this year and need depth on D, they're all-in. The market for D seems particularly tough this year and it's pretty cool to see the Flyers capitalize on that need rather than chase after it themselves. I was scared the Flyers would make a boneheaded move and go all out for Jagr or someone similar just to try to get the 8th seed and drop out after a round, but happy to see otherwise. Moreover, the 8th seed might still be possible with a few games left against the Bruins, and maybe we'll see some of our younger players get NHL experience.

Too often the Flyers have been on the other side of deals like this. It's really nice to see a Philly GM planning for the future and acquiring picks and young players in exchange for declining vets instead of the other way around.
