Back from profiling today, I'll try them a few times over the next few days. Trying a combo radius for the first time so I'll see how this goes.

3mm and the steel got 8/12 with a medium forward pitch so a little more.

An update on my issue: I took pictures of the steel and sent them to STEP. From  looking at the pictures they told me that  "The line seems like a machining fault or error. Sharpening can't correct this".

The Line was visible on the runner. They sent a replacement under warranty obviously.

I took the steel to the pro shop and they said they shouldn't be hit with having to profile it and that I should really profile it. It cost's $50 dollars which I had already paid on the first set of runners. I told them to just sharpen and forget about profiling.

$50 for a profiling job?  Which shop is this?

I had issues with step blacksteel with brand new edge holders. The left clicked from day one where it had play up and down from near the toe. I put ls3s in there and it was snug.....I was able to return them at my lhs which I am grateful for.  Trying out tydans to see if they fit better.

I also found a set of ls2 holders on eBay to keep int he event the edge holders just aren't for me. I like the peace of mind that a nut and bolt is holding my steel in.

Not sure if it's the same shop but Noicing charges that much. And to be honest, the first (and only time) I used them their leveling was way off and I've not sent my steel back to them since.
