leonzhu 7 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 Hey everyone, my Re-Akt broke in transit to a recent tournament in Central Asia, and so i need a replacement. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations? I like the Re-Akt for its comfort, but i held an IMS 7.0 the other day and it made the Re-Akt seem overly heavy!Should I:1. Replace with a new Re-Akt2. Change to the IMS 11.0 (if the concussion protection is equal or better than the reakt) 3. Wait for the Re-Akt 100 (if it is lighter than the current reakt) Comments? goblue9280 33 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 Since I've been on this forum, the #1 recommendation with regards to helmets is go with what fits best. If the helmet doesn't fit your head shape properly, you've already decreased the protection ability of the helmet. As for which of those three offers better concussion protection... until there is extensive, independent research on all three, it's impossible to say. SillyMe 22 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 I just shopped for helmets last week, tried on every helmet at Monkey sports, Bauer, Ccm, reebok.Was gonna buy the Re-akt until I tried on the Ims 11.0....Ended up buying the 11.0 with a Re-akt cage...it just fit my head the best, and I find it very comfortable.YMMV Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

When they were the Cascade M11 and M11Pro, AFAIK, the only difference was the shell design and the M11Pro was supposed to vent better. IIRC, the two had the same SEVEN suspension and padding. I just got a clearance M11, and I REALLY like it compared to my old Bauer 4400. The SEVEN suspension is a lot more flexible and fits a wider range of head shapes/sizes. The SEVEN suspension is a lot more flexible and fits a wider range of head shapes/sizes.They both still use the Seven(11.0 has yellow circles on the "tubes"- not sure of any other differences), but I found the 11.0 more comfortable myself....may be the yellow strip of Poron XRD that wraps around and touches your forehead. stick9 880 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 I just purchased the 11.0. Probably the most comfortable helmet I have ever tried on/worn. Finally a helmet with a nice whole head fit. I tried the 7.0 on as well. I found it fit a bit differently and wasn't quite as comfortable.After using it a few times I do have one slight beef, airflow....or lack there of. It's not enough to discourage me away from my purchase, just saying it could be better.The Re-Akt was nice, not as comfortable and didn't fit as well. MikeWhy 39 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 I used to use an 11.0, it fits amazingly but I had issues with the poron peeling WAY to prematurely..I'm talking like a month in. So I got the RE akt 100...at first it doesn't feel as good but now that it's sorta molded to my head and the one or two pressure points are gone it feels amazing plus the benefits of 1. the venting 2. the sweat system 3. the look and 4.the amount of poron that keeps me secure and feeling safe is just phenomenal. I used to deem my M11 Pro(later chewed up by dog so i got the IMS) purchase as the best investment I ever made....that may be a different story now. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Meals 2 Report post Posted October 2, 2014 I have a Re-Akt and I like it a lot. I tired on the 100 and 11.0 this weekend . The 100 seemed really heavy and didn't fit great! Then I put on the 11.0...oh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (Star Trek anyone)......fit really good and really comfortable. I will be buying one next week. With that said... Anyone want a black Re-Akt??? althoma1 574 Report post Posted October 2, 2014 I find the IMS 7.0 and 11.0 helmets to be super comfortable, but I know the 7.0 (basically a Cascade M11 with some tweaks) doesn't breath that well. It's fine for ice, but it's pretty hot for roller. Other than that I love the helmet. I'm considering picking up an Inhaler or E700 just for roller at some point though.
