Stick Flex - ice/inline

Recommended Posts

I am getting back into indoor roller and currently play mainly ice. Just curious if people use the same flex stick for ice as they do inline? If I use a 100 flex stick for ice, should I go with an 85 flex because of the lighter puck? Thanks!

I use the same flex for roller and ice. But for roller I use a stick I don't care about because I play outdoor on concrete, which tends to slowly eat away at the bottom of my blade.

Personally I use a stiffer stick on ice than I do inline, I even prefer different lengths. For inline I use a softer stick than ice due to the puck. Everybody likes something different but this is what I feel works best(for me).

I guess it depends on what kind of roller surface you're playing on. I'm kind of the opposite of most of the responses I've seen. I like to use a whippier stick for ice and a stiffer one for roller because the ice surface has much less friction than the roller surface I play on, and because of that it's harder for me to flex my stick (if they were the same stiffness) in ice vs. roller.
