Skate pain , Please help !

Recommended Posts

Hey guys , I need help.

I have had my Bauer x100's for a month and a bit now and I have pain in the skate , they fit my feet well but it's a bone in my foot under my ankle that sticks out of my foot quite far. (Both feet)

In the skate it's on the inside of the skate by the "Bauer" logo (has no padding in that area)

It is a very annoying pain while I am trying to play hockey and concentrate , those bones have swollen twice it's size .

I have tried baking the skates and tried putting padding in the skate which doesn't work.

Could you guys please recommend something that will help.

Yea, punch it out to create a bit of space to accommodate that protrusion. Extra padding just puts more pressure on it.

Alternative to punching, take a few pieces of thick felt and tape it over the protruding bone that hurts. Bake and put your foot in with the felt still on. This'll give you a little more room in that area without having to punch right away.

or spot punch it yourself, it's not hard. pm me if you need some details on how to do it and what you need or search the threads, I've done many boots that fixed issues just like yours.

So I posted a thread about a bone in my foot running out and hurting me in skates , allot of people have a good idea of what it is , it's my arch that's too flat and it's exposes the bone I highly agree because I mostly walk on the inside of my foot and it's because of my arch being so low .

Is there anything you guys can recommend for me to end this problem ?

A custom insole or orthotic created by a podiatrist or chiropractor may help you by providing additional support where you need it. (You can try off-the-shelf products like SuperFeet or Sole first if you haven't.)

You may also need to get the area of your skate where the bone protrudes punched out so that it has a bit more room to accomodate comfortably.

CCM footbeds are great. Have your store map your foot with the machine and pick the footbed. IMO these are way better than Sidas or Superfeet.
