Performance Skate Socks

Recommended Posts

There are several great performance socks on the market. I'm a fan of compression fitting socks and of the 37.5 technology.

I used to use the Bauer Premium sock, and they are/were great. Kept your feet dry, nice and thin with compression in the right spots. I started skating barefooted a while ago and will never wear socks again.

I wear FoxRiver sock liners cause I like a very thin sock. These are some of the thinnest I have found that still absorb sweat well. Stable 26 socks are great too, and give you the added benefit of the fit pads, but they are a thicker sock.

Sorry to derail the op but can you comment on some of the perceived benefits of skating barefoot?

Thanks

I personally feel like I get a better fit than I do with socks. No blisters,etc... either from going barefoot, feels really comfortable to me. I do remove my insoles after I wear my skates and fully flop the tongues over to let skates air out. I did the same even when I wore socks.

I'd have even bigger calluses on my big toes than I do now if I went barefoot. In my goal skates I even wear a rubber toe cover on my big toe to provide some cushion.

How'd the Warriors work out for you?

I'll let you know when I try them. With colds and some other things going on, I haven't played for a while.

I own the 2nd socks listed and these : http://bauer.com/hockey-apparel-on-ice-base-layer/premium/ng-performance-skate-sock. I like both of them. The first pair I have over dried them and they are feeling a little off. The Bauer Premium socks that I linked to are holding up very well. Would recommend them to anyone looking.

I find soccer socks to be great and they can be found on close out online or in stores for $5-10 or less.

Drymax Litemesh are awesome. Been using them for years. Keep my feet really dry. Only $10 pair at most places

Are these thin, medium thickness or thick?

I would say medium. For reference they are not as thin as the Bauer Core sock but thinner than the new 37.5

I'm a big fan of the Bauer NG Perf Skate Socks.. I've got a few in my rotation, plus they're not overly expensive.
