J.S. Giguere, the last active former Whaler in the NHL hangs it up. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/goalie-giguere-retires-16-seasons-200730178--nhl.html . Whenever I hear his name I always picture this:

I remember when he was up from Halifax, he looked like he was going to be a solid goalie. At least the Whale is well represented in the coaching ranks...

Huh, didn't know he played for the Whalers. I only know him from ANA and TOR.

well the 8 games he played for Hartford before being traded to the Flames might not have been that memorable =)

I think it was him and cassels for Kidd and Roberts. he didn't play long there either, maybe a few seasons up and down with affiliates.

glad he got to go out on a (relatively) successful team. sucks hejduk didn't get that honor.

Hejduk got to enjoy a pretty good run with the Avs. Not every player gets to go out on top but I think Hejduk had his fair share of success.
