S19 or RSII shoulder pads

Recommended Posts

My son has grown out of his (second) Easton S19 shoulder pads and is

as always very reluctant to change his gear.

If i'll be able to find another S19 pads should I go with these or is the

RSII pads in any way better or worse?

I have heard that RSII is somewhat tight around the neck...?

He is a speedy forward and mobility is priority no:1 but with that being said

I don't want him to sacrifice too much protection.

Is there any other multi panel/segmented shoulder pads which will

have the same open/loose feel as S19 and offer the same protection

in the chest and spine area?

The RSII pads are really solid. I used them before moving to my TotalOne MXG Pads - they are light and don't inhibit my mobility in any way. The APX 2 pads are extrmely light and mobile too. Both have spectacular padding in the chest and spine area, with the vented foam in the NXG line being really protective and lightweight, and the segmented padding of the APX 2s providing great mobility.

Thanks

It will probably be the RSII pads. He has tried the NXG and Apx2. He thought the NXG felt "quite good" but he didn't like the Apx2 at all.
