Pants for short and wide

Recommended Posts

I'm 5'7 and 200lbs and am looking for a upper-mid pair of pants. Any brands to look at or brands to stay away from that would fit someone who's short and wide? Have CCM U+12 mediums but they're just a little small. I've tried a large and in the CCM they get just get too long at the large. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Afaik, ccm's have the shortest inseams of all pants on the market currently.

The only pants I've tried on that were shorter were the old mission fuel 110/120 that were adjustable for length.

out of curiosity, how long have you used the u12 for? I have the CL pants in medium, they have loosened a bit over time, but I know what your saying, a little too tight on the hips. I have tried a bit wider or more traditional fitting pants, but most are a little too long for my liking, the CCM is the best fit I have gotten in a pant.

If I recall, several of RBK's pants have adjustable length.

I have a pair of bauer supreme one60's that fit me well as a short, wide person. They are a little long but don't interfere with my play, although I'm a suspender kinda guy who wears them high. YMMV.

Same. One60s pulled way up with suspenders. Would love to find something shorter though.

Tackla does/did make Husky model pants, which are -1" or -2"

hah "husky model".. love it. I'll look into that. I recently got a men's "portly fit" blazer. Fit really well, actually for the most part. Too low of a button stance though. But, thats a whole other subject.

Air 9000s, and they call them "Short" now, -2"

Saw that just through searching. They look pretty difficult to find. Though I did find the Tackla 2440 Short model here: http://www.ultimatehockeyonline.com/products/Tackla-2440-senior-short-ice-hockey-pants.html

Emailed them to confirm they have them in stock. Worth a shot!

Any shop should be able to get them for you. last time I checked, they would sell single units to shops.

i've tried these on back when i was 20lbs heavier. they were still a bit longer than comparable sized ccm's imo.

I have custom altered a pair of regular pant.

1. turn you pants inside out.

2 . lift pad out of way in waist area.

3. pinch 1/2 to 1 inch of fabric and sew along waist line.

you could also cut and sew but that is unnecessary.

took 10 mins
