Frozen ponds, lakes in Europe? Where to go?

I live in the UK and as such our winter is just dog poo grey sky's and wet, we do not get any chance to EVER skate on a frozen Pond or lake, I am now in my early 30's and started skating and hockey in 1994 and it is to my embarrassment that I have never skated on a natural ice surface.

I have some decent leave from work in Jan, Feb 2015 can anyone tell me of a location in Europe that would be the best bet to get some natural skating in?..

Yep big place though, can anyone size it down to a town etc?

If the temperatures stay cold enough, you can skate on the sea ice in Helsinki.

Ok Helsinki is noted, I guess Feb would be the best month?
