CCM RBZ Skates Discontinued?

Noticed stores are blowing these skates out at half price. Why is that? Are they replacing the RBZ line entirely with the tacks line?

The skates are amazing. Best pair of skates I've ever owned.

This is nothing different than what happens with any other line of skates. They are out for a couple of years and then that line is updated, sometimes with the name carrying on and sometimes not.

This as been talked about ad nauseum throughout the site. If you're that worried about it, start stocking up on them then :)

CCM plans on releasing a successor skate to the RBZ to maintain 3 skate lines just like Bauer. However, they currently don't want anyone to know much about it, maybe because:

1) The skate will just be an RBZ with a new name and graphics package?

2) They feel that consumers will be drawn to a skate line they know little about?

3) They don't want to compete with Bauer at the skate level?

4) They are planning on building some mystique around the new skate starting from the first spotting of them in an NHL stall or on the ice? Leading to a media blitz after the playoffs leading into the retail launch?
