Hjalmarsson has to be on that list, he's great in his own end and has a bomb of a shot.

My list, names aren't in any particular order:

Niklas Kronwall, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Anton Strålman, Victor Hedman, Nicklas Hjalmarsson, Johnny Oduya, Niklas Grossman, Erik Karlsson, Jonathan Ericsson, Alexander Edler.

my list would be very similar to the one above, except instead of Ericsson and grossman Id put Hampus Lindholm, and Enstrom.

id say kronwall to me would be somewhere in the 2-4 range, depending on what you want in a Dman.

Any love for Adam Larsson this season? Finally got a chance and has been proving himself to show potential of being the 4th overall pick in 2011.

I wouldn't put him in my top 10 yet. if he continues and improves, he could unseat someone, but I am not going to take him out of a top 10 spot for any of those guys.

I'd take Larsson or Carl Gunnarsson over Grossman. Nik can block shots with the best of them but he can't move. Speaking of moving, I've always enjoyed watching Enstrom skate. I don't think he will ever put up numbers like he did in ATL, but he is a smart player that can survive despite his size. He reminds of a Timonen in some regards. (And I'd have to imagine comparing a Fin vs. a Swede is sacrilege to someone haha).

I'll take it as a compliment if you say a Swede is almost like a Finn!

We have a few Swedes around here. That Andersen kid at Cloquet HS has got to be one of the top 10 Swedes. We have some Finns too. The Poles from Duluth are the best by far.

I am half Polish and half Swede Maybe in the top 100000 on D in the over 50 league. Do you count that?
