New girdle suggestions

Recommended Posts

1) (RE: Alkali question) Call one of the online retail stores and ask a guy who works the floor and plays hockey, he should know.

2) I had last edition's top of the line Mission Pro Compression girdle, and was not impressed at all. The ventilation is an illusion, as they stuck a piece of hard plastic into the Hex foam on the hips. No durability in the hip spongy protective stuff. Maybe they corrected this in the new model? I do not know, have not tried on or seen or researched.

3) I used to wear the Shock Doctor 580 or 582 or 584- the padded long jock ones from like 3 years ago. They were horrible- no ventilation, they heated up like an oven, and the foam did not offer much protection at all. Again, maybe the updated version of this has improved on these matters?

I now wear the Dynasty ice girdle for ice. Yes, it is ventilated, and keeps me cool enough where I play (a hot, humid rink), but I would not want to wear it in a hot, humid inline rink without the ice itself to keep me cool. And, it may be a bit bulky for inline- they fit like shorts- tighter and lower profile than pants for sure, but not hugging the body like a true girdle. I never wore an actual ice girdle, so I am happy with the Dynasty "girdle." If I ever get my hands on a tight fitting actual real ice girlde that works, then who knows, I may scrap the Dynasty, but we will see.

If I played inline, then I'd try this:

I can vouch that the new shock doctor girdle does not heat up like an oven, before my girdle wearing days i would just wear some compression shorts under my roller pants and i honestly can not tell the difference. When I was looking for a girdle i went to my LHS and they had the entry level roller girdle from Mission seen below. What a piece that thing is. The padding is probably about a quarter of an inch thick at best and not very dense either. Shock doctor padding is legit, really dense and 3/4 inch thick. I know some of you don't have a shop where you can check these things out so be warned if you are thinking of buying a girdle definitely stay away from this one.
