Bauer gloves: get Nexus 1000s or wait for 1Ns?

Recommended Posts

Seeing some good prices on the Nexus 1000s, you guys think the 1Ns will be any better? Also have you seen any pics of the Bauer 1X Pro gloves?

Thank you, great forum love reading the posts you guys throw up/

Google can get you to 1X gloves. Aside from pictures, I haven't tried on the 1N gloves.

Many people on MSH believe the Nexus 1000 is still a top quality glove. IIRC, materials were changed for the 8000 glove which made the glove feel somewhat cheaper.

Where are you seeing these prices on nexus 1000s?

Probably depends on your definition of "good". I don't see what you are getting with Bauer gloves that is worth the higher price point.

Not sure what other 4 rolls are comparable at that price.

Pretty much any other top o' the line 4 roll from almost any brand. I don't see what the Bauer is doing so much better than them that makes it worth the $170-180 price tag that I am seeing about.

I'm in the market for a decent set of 4 rolls. Maybe it's just habit to automatically gravitate towards Bauer gear.

I am in love with my Eagle's, the Eastons and CCM top line 4 rolls were awesome as well and are about $50-60 cheaper than the Bauers.

If you're going to stay with Bauer and you're not too picky on palm material I would just wait until the 1N. Has new palm and 37.5 material. Didn't like the Ax-Suede palm (I had APX2 which has same palm as 1N) but loved the 37.5 infused liner. Fantastic at decreasing wear and smell.

It's worth mentioning I jumped from tapered to 4-roll and had the choice between Warrior and Bauer, and I chose the AX1. Could not be happier. Palms are really thin but durable. I also feel like it's a tad wider than the Nexus.

I'd stick with the 1000s. They're a great glove and I don't think the improvements in the 1Ns will justify the bump up in cost.

Having said that, $169+tax for a retail pair of gloves is extremely expensive. You might want to look at pro stock (although N1000s are rarer) or secondhand if you're okay with that.

Check out the AX1. The highest quality 4 roll in my opinion. They're expensive but worth every penny in my opinion, and they come in 13" and 13.5".

Where can you buy them in 13.5? I haven't seen it but that would probably fit me better.

if you're not in a rush, Id wait, JUST incase

its unlikely that you wont be able a find a pair of 1000's once the 1N's are released

guessing there wont be a huge difference, subtle changes Im sure
