  1. ^^ Oh yeah, that auction I remembered to bid on 20 minutes after it ended.
  2. Part of that is that I think a lot of people don't really know what a skate that 'fits' is supposed to feel like. From my personal experience, I would put on the skate that was 1.5-2 sizes down from my shoe, and there'd be too much space in the toecap, and my heel wasn't really locked in, but I'd never had a properly fitted skate so I didn't really know the difference. They didn't hurt my feet, and they were the 'right' size based on my shoe size, so I figured they were fine. A few years ago I was shopping for my first pair of top-end skates, so I decided that if I was going to spend that kind of money, I was going to make sure I took the time to try on a lot of different models and sizes, and seek out the best possible fit; and I was surprised to find out how badly my old skates fit. I wear size 11 shoes and have fairly normal (maybe a tad on the deep/wide side) feet, and the first time I was fitted properly for a pair of skates, my skate size changed from a 9.5D to a 7-7.5EE in most of the skates I tried on, until I eventually settled on 6.5EE One95's that fit absolutely perfectly after baking. I had never really been fitted by someone who knew what they were doing before, or bothered to try on smaller sizes than reccomended, so I didn't really know that what I needed wasn't a bigger size, but the EE width, and a skate with a fit designed to fit my foot volume-wise.
  3. Are the 1053's a two-piece pant, or one?
  4. Hurt my foot running last week. From what I'm reading online, it sounds like a stress fracture (haven't been able to see a doctor yet). I'm supposed to be going to Boston to play a hockey tournament at the end of April, so sounds like good luck has struck!
  5. Haven't been posted in this thread (or any other one) in a while! Helmet - Nike/Bauer 9500 Shoulders - Some old Coopers that I refuse to replace Elbows - Jofa 9177 Pro Gloves - Nike/Bauer XXXX Pro Pants - Hespeler Classic Lite (in desperate need of replacement, have my eyes on a closeout pair of Easton S15 Motion - I like them, but I can't find any reviews/opinions on them) Shins - Mission Fuel 100 Jock - Itech compression pant/jock combo thing Undershirt - Rbk triple impact with the padding removed (I just bought it for the wrist protection, but since I got the 9177 elbows, I don't need that anymore) Skates - One95's Sticks - Warrior Dolomite DD 85 flex Kovalev, Mission Titanium 85 flex Sundin
  6. Anyone want to guess if this would be possible, or how hard it would be (and what it would involve)?... I'm thinking of buying some pro-stock pants, but they're two-piece pants, and they only have the lowers (and for some reason, it's impossible to find pro-stock pant uppers). I have an old pair of pants that I'd like to cut the top part off of, and convert into uppers for the pro-stock pants. My pants are pretty old, and the exterior them is pretty much ruined/full of holes anyway, so I don't care if I try this and it doesn't work out because my pants can't really be sold/used again anyway.
  7. Brendan Morrison isn't a very big guy, though - I doubt he wears 15" gloves.
  8. Did you put your hockey equipment on at your house for that picture? It looks like you're sitting on an office/desk chair.
  9. Are the Staals 15" or 14"+1? ... Or neither (they look long, but just the cuff part looks long to me, making them exactly the gloves I want [other than colour scheme])
  10. Erik Karlsson... I think I just realized that Kachun is why I can't find any RH pro-stock sticks in Ottawa... What's the flex on those? I know Chris Neil uses an 85 flex, which makes me covet his sticks, but at Karlsson's size, I can't imagine his are very stiff either.
  11. Is that the new-ish one in Kanata (I think I remember you being from Ottawa/near Ottawa)?... I went in there when they opened and they had a lot of pro stock stuff (I remember a pair of Chara's MIA gloves dressed as Missions. They didn't seem that big length-wise, but my hands were swimming in them volume-wise), but I haven't been there since.
  12. There are some Blues/Thrashers/Sabres pro-stock Mission gloves on Hockeymonkey.
  13. Are the Vapors a EE width, and the Flexlites a D?
  14. I've cut the footbeds from running shoes to fit in my skates. I had Superfeet, and Graf and Bauer stock footbeds and I was getting pain in my arches with all three. Turned out Saucony had the answer. I made fairly crude wristguards (like the Jofa floating ones that Ovechkin, et al. wear) out of an old pair of soccer shinguards. When I was like 8, I blacked out the Cooper logos on my helmet with a marker.
  15. I had a Cooper XL7 helmet as a kid. I would be remiss not to add that one to the list.
