  1. This is a shocker. Well done with your time at Alkali. I think you designed some of my favorite skates...Mission D3c and my next inline skates are/were likely Alkali's for this reason. Good luck in your future endeavors.
  2. They look great! I use these boots for ice and they fit me quite well. As a matter of fact, they made me realize how poorly my current inline skates fit. I've been thinking about converting a pair for a few months, especially since you can find them so cheap these days. I would love to hear how the sole adhesion to the boot holds up after 20 or so games/skates if you have the time.
  3. Personally, I have converted ice skates in the past for a few reasons. I was not happy with the current offerings due to fit or due to poor construction. I think the poor construction has been addressed well in recent times. If I'm not correct, your Axioms were made by Mission post being bought by Mission and therefore, were built on the Supreme last. If this is the case and your foot fits the Bauer Vapor line, then you may benefit from either converting an Vapor ice boot or buying the Vapor inline series. Personally, I prefer the all 80mm wheel chassis setup, and therefore have converted ice skates in the past as at that time there were far less all 80mm chassis/skates available. If you prefer HiLo chassis, then I would think you would be good to go with the X70r or X90r's. It would save you the hassle of converting and likely be more cost effective. As for your resale of inline boots only, I do not think you will get much for them. Good luck with your quest to find good inline skates!!! When you find them it's blissful.
  4. Beautiful skates man. I'm jealous. My next skates will be Vapor series boots converted, but I'm a Labeda chassis guy. Those look great. I've always loved the look of the Supreme line, too bad my Vapors fit my foot better.
  5. Thanks! Medium chassis. I have a guy locally that does great mounting work. This is the second set of skates he's done for me and I have no complaints. He was recommended by some really good players from my rink. No lift in back. I had to dremel nearly an inch by 1/2 inch for the second wheel to have proper clearance. Chassis are a very subjective piece of equipment. I grew up using HiLo's and had no complaints until I got the chance to use Hum'ers several years ago. I just feel that I get more grip and top end speed with little downside. However, I've been beat by plenty of players using HiLo's/Vanguard's, etc., so it's likely not about equipment. My $.02 is if you get a chance to give 'em a go, do it. It can't hurt.
  6. Not exactly an ice to inline conversion, but a conversion nonetheless. My Tacks are finally dying. I picked up the MIssion Boss SE's on closeout over a year ago, but was never super stoked on them, so I just kept rocking my Tacks. I can't say I hated the Vanguard chassis, but I am definitely more comfortable and therefore confident on the Hum'er chassis. I will skate them tonight for the first time, but I am happy with how they have turned out.
  7. Thanks for the prompt and thorough reply. Again, the product looks great and congratulations.
  8. I got to see some/all of your gear at a tournament and it looks great. Congratulations on bringing a new inline hockey company to the market. I am a long time Hum'er chassis user and I noticed on your skate lineup that the second wheel is not recessed on your set up. What was the reasoning behind this? Patent issues w/ Tour? Is there an advantage to being further from the skating surface? Again, congratulations on the product launch.
  9. Why can't it be converted? Is it because it is not fused?
  10. li7039, let me know how this goes. I have a pro-stock 7v sickick that I'm looking to do the same with. My blade is shot, but I love the stick, so I figured I'd make it into a two piece. Just haven't got around to it yet.
  11. I'm not one to worry about the way my equipment looks, but those Vapor X:30's really mesh well with the Mag Vanguards. Nice work. I hope they skate as well as they look.
  12. Did you do lifts on the front and back? If so, was it to avoid cutting channels out of the bottom of your boots for wheel clearance?
  13. Looks like you've got a little heal lift too...nice skates. -Mike
  14. I've never skated Easton skates, but yours sure do look nice. -Mike
