Hey Guys, Jason here, been on Modsquad for a long time and a lot of you may know me from the past being with another Hockey company that is no longer doing hockey, but still doing the Softball/Baseball thing. I am currently the Project Coordinator for TRUE Hockey and will continue to be on this thread and others, so if you have any questions let me know and I will try to get back to you as soon as I can. The replacements are specific to glove size as palms fit differently for size on a different size glove. The zippers are not fully exposed once zipped and are up closer to the padding on the gusset, so face washing shouldn't be an issue. As JR Said the palms are sold on a program to Dealers and they will be able to stock all the palms and put them on a POP rack. The palms come as a set and will be able to be ordered to fill in gaps as they sell through. It may seem like a lot, but we wanted to start with options so we could meet the demand of many different players and what they look for in palms. This is a system that we have developed to last a long time, so we are not planning to have this for a year or two and then be done with it. We plan to have these as options even if we make a tweak to the glove and update it in the future. We want the palms to work with that glove When taking the pictures in the catalog, we were trying to get each attribute across. As a whole, the gloves have the traditional glove shaping that has been popular for sometime in the hockey equipment industry Something this innovative and game changing will draw some skepticism, but this is something that has been in testing for close to two years and is definitely an item that we believe in. We don't look to be the me too, we are looking and trying for common sense innovative designs that will still have the traditional look and feel, but offer something new and different in that certain category. As I said, this has been in the works for sometime and it is great to see it out there being used.

Any day you get to play hockey, win or lose, is better than a day you don't get to play hockey. Now I'm going to sit in my chair, rest my old legs and hydrate.

http://modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php/files/file/196-2016-true-hockey-catalogue/ Sticks - True has updated their A-Series line for 2016. While the majority of the features from the previous line carry over into the new line, the difference is what has been done to the blade. Their Braided Rib Technology consists of two braided carbon fiber tubes that run the length of the blade. One is in the center of the blade, and the second one is below, in between the center tube and the bottom of the blade. It being a braided tube also means that the fibers are continuous, helping to prevent cracks. This blade has been added to each of the A-Series sticks for 2016. This has resulted in a 50% stronger blade than last year's A-Series AB II blade. The A6.0 SBP (strength/balance/power) comes in at 400g at senior and in 6 patterns. Matte grip finish with a double-concave squared-corner shaft dimension. The 5.2 SBP also features a BRT blade. That one is coming in at 420g, 6 patterns. And even yet, the 4.5 SBT is what True is calling their "team" stick - typically what is the price point right above top end from most competitors. BRT blade, 6 patterns, coming in at 445g. The 2.2 comes in at 490g under $100. 3 patterns, 2 flexes. The 6.0 SBP also comes in shaft and blade form; both standard and tapered offerings. Xcore carries over from 2015. Gloves - True has two glove families for 2016 - The X series, which is an anatomical fit, and the A series, which is a classic 4 roll glove. The top end gloves share the same technologies - EPP protection with PE inserts on top, nylon and their Trueflex lock thumb. However, the story is the palm. Both the A 6.0 SBP and the XC9 have a removable palm. The way the Z Palm works is that there is a continuous zipper that starts at the base of where the palm meets the back cuff and continues along the outer of the gusset. The zipper is on the top part of the gusset so it isn't felt when the glove is on your hand. The top of the zipper is bound so that once the zipper is done, the teeth are tucked underneath. The Z Palm comes with 5 different options - standard, which is 1mm Clarino with an .6 overlay. The Z Pro is .6 Clarino, which makes for a very thin palm. The Z-Grip is .75 AX Suede with a .5 grip overlay and has a grip print in the index and middle fingers. The Z-Fit is .6 Torray with a .6 overlay, making it a flexier palm. The Z-Power is 1mm Clarino and a 1mm overlay, with a .6 overlay on the index and middle fingers. The neat thing about this is that all of the palms are interchangeable. For instance, on custom gloves that I have made in the past, I always go for the thinnest possible, but typically go with an overlaid palm on my top hand. This would be possible with these gloves without going with a custom order. The 4.5 glove and XC7 glove are slightly down spec'd - no Z-Palm and the EPP foams are 4mm smaller than the top-end glove.

14U Montana state girls hockey tournament. What an incredible weekend capping off an awesome season. The past several years we've had 3 teams only playing a state tourney. Our team and a nearby town joined forces to win the championship last season. The teams had relatively few games to play during the year. This season, we had four more associations join our new 14U league, and along with two from the prior season, we had 6 teams and a ton of league games. The girls played their hearts out all season and we had some very very fast, intense, physical yet clean games. A lot of people at the rinks watched the girls games and commented that they had no idea that girls hockey could be so intense. The games were often close and there were fewer than two penalties most games and zero penalties most games. This is the way hockey should be played. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve these kids. Montana hockey has hard-working young girls with great sportsmanship. Managers who bend over backwards to work together and put together great game weekends for our players. The girls are well coached and have parents who are supportive and respectful. There are a lot of boys and their parents who could learn a thing or two from them. Missoula topped Flathead 3-1 yesterday for the championship. The two teams had a great rivalry all season--between league and tournament games, Missoula won 4, Flathead won 2, and they tied 1. Congratulations to the Missoula Lady Bruins for a hard-fought title. Edited to add pics: I LOVED having both my girls play together. After my '03s finishes her time with the boys at Peewee state in two weeks, and they will move up to 19U together next season.

After several weeks of 40-50 degree weather that completely melted my rink, It's been cold (-10 last couple of days) enough to refreeze. I put three coats of water this afternoon and tonight. Smooth as glass. Supposed to be 30 degrees, and my son and I have the next two days off. Looking forward to getting out there and messing around for a few hours.

Today's drop-in was frustrating, to say the least. My technical abilities have been getting better and better every week. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter when your defensemen insist on standing right in front of you while simultaneously leaving a backdoor pass open. I let in about four today that I really want to have back. Of those, three were in the first ten minutes, and I wasn't even close to warm, so I didn't want to drop. Otherwise, it was all the usual odd man rush / backdoor tap-ins. The icing on the cake was a travel team that decided to come watch and heckle for the last half hour. In better news, my Passau chest / arm is in production.

Howdy, Update again... I've now played in two pickup games and have started helping out with my son's skills class. I'm now probably on the ice in some form four to five times a week, with two of those being pretty high intensity, one medium, and the others just sorta skating around a bit. The pickup games are awesome. :-) I'm slowly getting some sense of where I should be on the ice in the various winger vs. center vs. defenseman roles. Its pickup so mostly I just go to whatever spot is open vs. us having assigned roles. Skills are also a pretty big range from me as the worst guy up to guys that seem pretty damn good, but I really have no frame of reference to judge. 2nd game I did a lot better than the first. Settled down when I got the puck and worked on controlling it and finding an open pass / moving to create an open pass. My first game a couple guys (very nicely) mentioned that I didn't need to hurry it along as much as I was. Also worked on stick checking or poke checking or whatever its called and was able to steal the puck a few times from players that were a lot better than me, which felt great. I love making other people say "Fuck!" :-) I also scored, first time ever. At both pickups so far there has only been one goalie so on the other side the rule is that the puck has to be elevated off the ice and hit a post to score. I did a little give and go with another guy around a defender, controlled the pass that came back by kicking it up in front of my, caught up to the puck, and lifted it up to the post. Frankly... I mostly couldn't believe it. I bet I'm like 5 out of a 100 on doing that, but I'll take it. :-) On the skating front, I'm getting more comfortable going from forwards to backwards in a clockwise direction (which is my weak direction). Also getting slightly more comfortable with backwards crossovers. I really need to get more speed backwards though, as right now I can't skate backwards fast enough to stay ahead of an oncoming forward when I'm defending. I can cut the angles to try and help, but I don't even have enough speed for that against some of the guys. Still, its a lot better than where I was a month or two ago, so I know the answer is just "keep working on it". Last adult skills class of the current session is tomorrow night. Hoping my gear is at least kinda dry by then. Also hoping I still have some gas for it! :-) Mark ps. Also, I can hop over the boards getting onto the ice. I still look like a fish out of water if I try it coming off the ice though. :-)

    I love clearance sales.

We insist that our players see a concussion specialist rather than just the players GP before their return to play. Even then there is specific protocol and time line after they are cleared. All our players have done baseline testing to help diagnose and gauge recovery time. Soccer BTW, not hockey.

My teammates celebrated my "goalie birthday" (as of tomorrow, I've been playing goal for one year) with much applause and a copy of "Red Army". I couldn't ask for a nicer bunch to skate with.

You'll have to make a point of getting the girls on the ice with her, MTHockeydad. Yesterday was even better, broke out the 14's from the 19's(19's going today, just 14's yesterday). She is so personable and gave my daughter a big, what appeared to be genuine hug, after as we were leaving the arena. Stuff like that goes a long way, my daughter thinks Lyndsey is the greatest thing ever. Lyndsey is a great ambassador for women's hockey, I'm a big fan and I don't think we'll ever miss something she does here.

Got notice Friday that I'm officially off probation with the ambulance service, no caveats, no sweat. Nothing weird happened on shift today, and dispatch even sent us back about an hour early, which gave me a chance to practice driving the ambulance around for about 45 minutes. Feeling much better about the prospect of having to drive sometime. (probationary EMTs can't drive at my company, but they also don't train you on driving the trucks, so you have to practice when you can.)
