    Mission M-1

6'2 190 Pounds 85 Flex, Gaborik Curve Used: 16 months Flex: All PP here. Luved the 85. Great flex for me. Found the M1 to have a beautifull consistent fluid flex. 9.5/10 Blade/Feel: M1 has a softer blade then most -- it was designed like this for a reason- to enhance puck feel while still having composite blade performance. It works well. It has good feel - almost a rubber - dampening feel to it when accepting passes and stickhandling - not as artificial and bouncy as a synergy-- or as ceramicy as the XN10 --yet still feels nice when passing and shooting. Some people have complained that its blade heavy-- i do agree it may be sligthly blade heavy - but i actually prefer this then having a blade light stick (xn10) - i feel it helps keep my stick more planted on the ice and i have more control while stickhandling. After 16 months of use its has gotten softer -- but it been solid for over a year. 9.8/10 Shooting: This is what i luved about the stick from the first time i used it. Along with the consistent flex i felt that on your snapshot and especialy on your slapshot you feel the bottom part of your stick act almost like a slingshot to propel the puck off your stick. Great release. Every shot you can feel it flexing and releasing exactly in the same spot -- very close to the bottom of the shaft. This is what i though made the stick. Very consistent, great kickpoint, and release. Oh ya and its shoots hard. 10/10 Durability: I found the whole stick shaft/blade to be extremely durable -- used it for over 16 months -- took about 1 year till i started feeling the blade go softer- and i just broke the shaft. For 68$ u.s i bought the stick for its an absolute steal. 9.8/10 Conclusion: Although i ripped the Hex 1 for being essentially a repainted M1 and terrible durability i felt like i have to give credit where credit is due. I luved this stick -- and again i luv the kickpoint and release --some people might say im crazy but i still havent felt that similiar slingshot feel on my Synergy, SL, True 1 or XN10. There has been many complaints about durability and the blade -- but i havent had any of those problems (My Hex is a different story)- all in all if its defect free its a great stick. 9.8/10

    Mission HEX-1

6'2 -- 195 Pounds 85 Flex, Hull Curve Shaft-Flex: Coming from an M1 - i found the the shaft to be slightly to boxy for me. It felt like an M1 on a small amounts of steriods. The flex was there -- smooth and consistent like the M1 was but overall no improvements on this stick. 6/10 Shooting: Again no upgrade here on the M1. Nice release-- good pop. But expected something more coming from M1. 6/10 Blade: Here where this stick goes downhill. Although there were many complaints about the M1 blade -- i luved it -- luved the feel --- the durabilty -- the soft blade. The hexblade was terrible -- it felt fragile from the first time i used it. After only a hour -2 hours of ice time the blade cracked on me. One of the worst blades out there. 1/10 Balance: Overall balance was good --- slightly better then the M1. Although i actualy dont have a problem with this- i actualy prefer the stick to be slightly blade heavy -- as opposed to blade light (XN0 etc.). But to someone else it will feel slightly blade heavy. It seems something Mission just cant avoid doing. 8/10 Conclusion: Overall i have been exptremely disappointed with this stick. I have never in 4 years of using OPS come across a stick that had some many problems-- seemingly for a number of players. To me the HEX 1 is a sligtly bulkier repainted M1 with a supposedly enhanced blade and a higher price tag. All in all the stick fails -- and has made me question my loyalty to Mission products. 2/10
  5. Itech HS22 aviator Been debating what type to pick up - that or the staraght cut. Hows the visor been working out for you? And more importantly - hows the protection - length? Does it sit nice and close to your face? I have the same exact helemet - looks like a bauer 4000 - and im thinking about getting that combo. Thanks
  6. Thanks for posting what I was also thinking. I guess stores that don't like people flexing sticks should lock up all of their sticks behind glass - that will stop those pesky customers! What would you expect customers to do when they're about to lay out $150 on an OPS, or any other stick for that matter? When you're going to lay down that kind of dough there are only so many ways you can touch and interact with a stick as you're thinking about the feel of it in your hands, the weight, etc. Flexing doesn't sound all that stupid to me. I bought a new stick a couple weeks ago and flexed all kinds of sticks before I knew which one felt good for me. I'm sure my LHS wasn't too sad when I walked out with a $100 stick and I just came in to get some numbers ironed onto my jersey. Now if a guy was taking practice windups or shooting rolls of tape around the store - ok, that's stupid! B) (Unless you have a demo stick area where they're supposed to shoot things, then that's ok too.) Maybe the LHS workers can tell us how they'd try out a new stick they've never touched before to decide if they'd buy it. Id be annoyed if you bought a stick or not. Flexing the sticks proves nothing. It just makes you look like a retard. And also puts unneccasary stress on ALL THE OTHER sticks that you DIDNT buy. And wow, you bought a $100 stick. Way to go. Thats a way to make a store's day! Wow -and i thought only the big online stores were unappreciative.
  7. Seems to me easton took a step back on the looks color scheme for there sticks. Im extremely surprised that there getting rid of the silver color scheme of the Synergy ST - that has defined the SYNERGY since its beggining. The last years ones were perfect - not as shiny as the previous silver ones - suprised there getting rid of there most definitive product. All there stuff looks preety bland and ugly- looks preety cheap. Stealth's synergy's etc. etc. The only nice looking stick is the Z Bubble - non grip. The ultra lite's not bad - but like you guy said - a nice simple black with ultra lite in white - would have looked incredible. All in all - very unimpressed Ben
