  1. Your shit out of luck unless you want to flip it and completely ruin the feel of a stick. Not true, I have made over 6 9k O tech sticks into tapered shafts, a little heat a dremel tool and a nice chisel is all it took, blades fit perfect with no issue, hollow blade tenon or not, Its very hard to explain over internet how I did this but its just time consuming and takes patience.
  2. Works excellent!! I sprayed my blade with black spray paint then added some clear and then silica sand and then more clear to seal. It is very easy and the more sand the more texture and grit.
  3. silica sand and clear coat is just like the Z tac stuff that goes on a lot of pro blades. Just spray some clear and sprinkle some silica sand on your blade and add a little more clear. It really works. I will try and post a picture later tomorrow
  4. Question for Velocity steel owners, How do you keep the mirror finish? I have to stone my blades to deburr edges and the finish is completely gone. I am getting new skates soon so new and different size velocity steel will go on them. Any tips for keeping them looking shiny? thanks
  5. Just to add some information almost all the Red Wings (who will win the cup this year) are using step steel on their skates. I know Draper, Holmstrom, Rafalski, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, USE THEM ON all their skates, Only HAnk and Nik use the chrome type plating steel. Paul Boyer (wings trainer) likes their product as do the players. So if you are interested and need new steel it seems like a good investement, as your skates are the most important part of your equipment!
