  1. No big deal but I found these Easton gloves in a sale box for $10.00. They had been part of a dispaly in a glass case for years and were in new condition but pretty dusty. I kind of like the way they look with my Vectors. Rick
  2. I love the 795 Tacks.... My Tacks collection includes: 552 Tacks with Red Star/Sherwood E-Frames (old style heel lock like Chelios) 655 Tacks with Sprung chassis (old style heel lock) 652 Tacks with Sprung chassis (1998 version I think) 752 Kevlar Tacks with T-blades (the green kevlar version) 755 Kevlar Tacks, roller version with Sure-Grip chassis. Rick
  3. Fatwabbit, You certainly have a bunch of sweet looking conversions. How do you decide which ones to skate? Rick
  4. Sprungs are just the best. I have tried a bunch of chassis and thought I had found the ultimate set-up with Red Star but when I went to the Sprungs I knew I could never go back. My boys still skate rigid chassis and I like the looks of several of the rigid chassis offerings but I won't go back. Rick
  5. Very nice looking Z-Air's. Looks like a sweet combo....... Rick Henry
  6. Not custom but vintage Pro Stock..... Rick
  7. I still have a pair of 552 Tacks with the black Sherwood/Redstar E-Frames. The thing I like about them over other hi/lo set-ups is how close to the surface you ride in a pretty neutral pitch. A nicely built and attractive frame. Rick
  8. I really dig the green/red gloves also. I have always liked the gloves with unusual colors. I bought a set of Cooper leather pro stock gloves years ago that are bright yellow and chocolate brown with white trim but I have never been able to find out what team they were made for. Possibly minor or college I guess. Rick
  9. I love the green E-Frames chassis. Before I switched to Sprungs my E-Frames were my favorite set-up. I have the silver version and the black Sherwwod E-Frames and I have seen the gold version they made for Easton but those are really cool. Nice Skates and welcome. Rick
  10. Not trying to hijack the thread but a while back we got a new sporting good store in our area that actually carries hockey gear. It was cool at first and I bought a few small things like laces, pucks, tape and even a couple of cheaper wooden sticks but for the most part they have lower level gear and the prices are about the highest I have seen for example $75 bucks for a $49 dollar helmet/cage combo (anywhere online) . I would like to support a local operation but I am not going to buy low end gear at mid to high end prices. The funny thing is I was at the store the other day and an employee said that they were considering not carrying hockey gear next year because it wasn't selling very well. I told him that the prices are just too high and told him that most guys I know order online and he acted mad about that and said that the online companies are killing the business. I can understand when the shops get mad because guys come in to get sized and try on skates and then order online because they can get the skates cheaper but the truth of the matter is I would buy more from them but when I can get better gear at a lower price even after paying shipping and handling thats what I am going to do. This might make shop owners mad but I work for my money just like everyone else. Rick
  11. Love the look of those gloves Fletch but man my first car in 1983 didn't cost $300 and it was a classic. A 1972 grey primered Grimlin with AM/FM sterio and like 70 or 80 thousand miles on it. But honestly I would rather have the gloves. Just bustin your chops those are cool. Rick
  12. Those really do look sweet. That white Mission chassis looks like it was made for that boot. Rick
  13. ROLLER ........... SKATES- CCM VECTOR 8.0 (BLUE/ROLLER VERSION BOOT) W/SPRUNG CHASSIS, Retro ( 90'S) CCM/KUZAK SILVER 82A OUTDOOR WHEELS AND MISSION ABEC 9 BEARINGS. HELMET- CCM 852 TACKS (ROYAL) W/BLACK CCM CAGE. ELBOWS- CCM EP 220. SHINS- MISSION FUEL 75'S. PANTS- MISSION APEX (BLACK/GREY/SILVER). GLOVES- FRANKLIN 9505'S (RED/WHT/BLUE). STICK- Retro- EASTON ALUMINUM TAPERWALL (BLUE) SHAFT W/EASTON ABS OUTDOOR BLADE. LOTS OF GUYS DIDN'T LIKE THAT STICK BUT I HAVE USED IT FOR YEARS. .......AND SOMETHING I JUST STARTED USING LAST YEAR AFTER CHIPPING A TOOTH- A SHOCK DOCTOR MOUTH GUARD. I'm not really in love with the color blue but for some reason most of my gear seems to be that color. Happy New Year Guys and Gals.... Rick
  14. I still have the Tacks for sure. Everything I have converted to Sprungs I did with T-Nuts and bolts so I can take the chassis off and put it on something else then put it back on whenever I want. I have like 4 sets of skates with the T-Nuts still in place and no chassis so all I have to do is switch the Sprungs from one boot to another. Still gotta love those Tacks...... Rick
  15. The boot is just sitting on the chassis but this is going to be my new set-up but with an A-8 Sprung frame. Rick Henry
