How to order custom Bauer skates

Recommended Posts

Since I live in Montréal, can I go directly to St-Jérome (Bauer headquarter ) to order and get my feet measured by the Bauer rep ?

If you go to St-J, you won't see anyone...

...they moved their operations to Blainville.

Can you set up an appointment with them? Most reps have no idea how to fit. It's very sad. Very few guys have any idea what they are doing and even fewer that are actually good at fitting.

I've read through this entire thread and didn't see anything about it. So I was hoping JR or someone in the know, could tell me what the Nexus 1N - mosoca is?

I'm hoping it's the x:60/7.0/x90 version.

The R9000 comes in it as well.  My assumption is that it's the Tech Mesh version.

I want to assume that....but you know the saying.

Another fitting question... I have slightly narrow feet, but especially in the heel.  Before I go custom, I want to see if I can find a retail fit, or figure out which boot would be best to try.

I know that a Vapor D is about the same as a Supreme C width (retail); my question is whether they both have the same width of heel (i.e. is Vapor a D/A and Supreme a C/A)?

Next question is typically which line has a better heel lock.  So would the retail C Supreme have a better heel lock than the retail D Vapor?  And if I get a AA heel in either a custom C or D width, which line should lock the heel in better?

Also, what is the main differences in custom Vapor vs Supreme, as far as fit goes?  I know the widths would be true to widt, so is it just things like the depth of the boot and the toe box width, etc?

Thanks!

the heel lock is entirely dependent on the foot, not the skate. the heel shape comes back around to the skate model that you try on, generally the supreme line has more volume, and a more "rounded u shape" in the heel where as the vapors tend to have a more "v shape" due to being a shallower narrower skate, even adjusting for width.

This is the new nexus v-cut tech mesh skate in the current 1N skin, I had to confirm this with Bauer while building a pair.

What's pricing like for these custom mold skates?

I was told that bauer only does custom molds for Pro and college players

Can someone send me the updated order form? My LHS lost their Bauer account and I have an old version. Thanks! Also, would an E width Vapor have the same size toe cap as a retail D Supreme?

A is standard

AA is narrower

B is wide

Vapor skates are a true last, so a retail D is a true D.

Retail Vapor is DA and EEB

Retail Supreme D is E/A and EE is EEE/B

Retail Nexus D is EE/A and EE is EEEE/B

My custom Supremes in C/AA don't feel or even look like they are in a C width.

If retail 2009 :) Vapor X:60 in a D width are too wide for me is it safe to assume that the X1 in a C width with AA heel will work for me? Width is pretty much the only change I will need in customs. Can't be fitted by a specialist as I'm currently overseas.
