So the 2010-11 Leafs season starts today and they shut down Yonge St for the entire day. I hate to
see what they will do if they win the Stanley Cup ? Anyhow, I see a stand with CCM/Reebok equipment,
turns out it is a replica locker room with actual player equipment. I found it pretty neat. Grrr8.

Thanks for posting this! I would love to try the Crosby, ovechkin, and datsyuk curve for sure! The Tavares looks an awful lot like a p91a or drury. Those are some great pics!

Pretty cool to see how many personal touches they put on Ovechkin's skates.

I was trying to figure out what's with Crosby's stick. It seems like a 3 piece hockey stick. Standard graphite blade attached/fused to another piece of graphite which is then fused to the main shaft. Never seen something like this before. I tell you one thing for sure though, most of the player blades are nice and buttery soft. Not like the regular retail blades........yuck.

cool pics - thanks JR!
Just to confirm: the name on the gloves is easy (Ovie's 83 years old grandfather), but what about the names on Ovie's skates?
Misha is most likely for his older brother, and Sergey probably stands for Fedorov?

I quite enjoyed the Rocket Runners. Very light.

And Vinny's feet are giant.

It looks like Datsyuk is going with a deeper curve this year. I have seen a couple of his patterns, but this curve is different. It also looks like he lowered the lie. I wonder if he is going with a shorter stick this year. For the last 2 or 3 years, he has been using a ridiculously long stick.

I don't doubt that the RR's are light, but they were SUCH a pain to sharpen when I worked in a shop...I secretly cursed each person that brought in a pair with RR's...and then tried to convince them to swap out their steel.

Eh, if you know what you're doing, they aren't a problem.

I don't have any problems with them.

They had a setup like this out here recently in Huntington Beach. They had a pair of Datsyuk gloves and I have to say they were the nicest feeling gloves I've ever tried on. SUPER soft.

the blade does not feel "glass like". Very forgiving.

I don't know how they do it, I think it is a different graphite/fibreglass ratio mixture ?

No blue, It has his V4 logo in the back of the skate. It showed CCM retail protective in his locker, he uses Jofa as others do. Smart of them to show the CCM/Reebok protective instead of Jofa but still.

Yeah apparently they all use purely ccm equipment now? Noo.. but kind of surprising that they didn't put Ovi's own equipment line in his locker. I don't think those are the Crosby gloves either, iirc they have the gold lines going straight down the middle instead of having the curved design shown, maybe he got new gloves though.

thanks for the pics, OP. i was there as well, just no camera

and it was for NHL Face Off, basically for the NHL opening day...the leafs had their own thing @ ACC where they opened up MapleLeafs Square for a tailgate party or something like that.
