Dryland Stick

Recommended Posts

Wondering how many have a dedicated dryland stick?

Do you cut it a little shorter to adjust to not wearing skates?

Use a heavier stick?

Use an old stick or get a street hockey blade?

Tape it?

Cut it, you want to keep the length consistent with your stance.

Depends - I normally use a broken ops that I have converted to a shaft and inserted a ABS blade. These days I use a game stick that I'm about to retire and add a hockey wraparound to it.

No tape if I'm using an ABS but yes if I'm using the wraparound.

I have been using a CCM Hossa, but having a hard time finding a ABS blade that matches. I am hesitant to get a different curve, even if I am just using it to screw around in the driveway. Wondering how much it matters?

The Wraparound looks like a decent options too. Any drawbacks from using it?

Rather than having a separate shorter stick, I find it easier to tape the knob lower on the shaft of the same stick and have a bit of shaft sticking out.  Since you're not on the ice, you don't have to worry about stabbing someone.
