A little rundown on the Supreme ADV twigs HERE

My wife started her job in May. 6 months until she can accrue it. Sadly some employers still don’t have it. she’s still looking for another job.

You can't find discount codes for retail sticks, let alone customs.

Ive worn them in basketball and found it never to help. My knee always feels awful while walking but never on the ice which is weird.

Brutal. I’ve never heard of a job not having sick time available except like... minimum wage jobs

I appreciate that. We did consider that he needed to go "back to basics". That being said, I know plenty of very good skaters who have terrible core strength, so, that's not it. Fliexibility?.... possibly. He has good flexibility, especially at the ankles where most of this would be relevant. Still, it's possible he lost some flexibility with rapid growth in the last month or two. Looking at all options now. I am thinking 1) OTG suggestion that it is a blade alignment issue. It started shortly after he went to a new pair of makos. Everything else was the same except the length of the steel. It makes logical sense that misalignment could be the culprit. But... 2) Since he has more speed now due to the length of steel. He may simply need to work on the basics of his turns at speed. He has VERY GOOD basics though, so, that's a hard one to swallow. Since many elite skaters are on shallower hollows (I'm not elite, but on 3/4 myself), I didn't think that was the explanation, but that's what he has in his head. Oh well.... Anyway, no clear consensus on this, so, we'll just need to try some things in a systematic way. No easy fix, I don't think. Heck, he may simply "grow out of it" as he gets used to his new found speed. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm looking at this from a different perspective. I'm an instructor with guys from the Swedish national program. When players "wash out", it comes down to 2 things: core strength and technique. Sharpness/hollow have nothing to do with it. When a kid goes into puberty, core strength/weight ratio goes down, as does flexibility.

I have a similar condition playing tennis where I feel one of my knees are going to give out (feels unstable). I do wear a patella strap (pretty tightly) to help with this. I use the McDavid brand. However, for hockey, I don't get the same feeling in my knee since there's less torquing of the knee joint (unlike in tennis), so when playing hockey I just wear a tight compression knee sleeve to help. I would imagine a patella strap would be a little bulky under the shinguard.

Nope. I have them profiled -2. So, a bit more than neutral, but not much. Again, he's 14. Been skating on Makos for 4 years, maybe longer. This is a recent development. I thought he was just getting too fast, but the misaligned steel makes some sense. A tougher problem to fix though... 😞

Check out Hockey Supremacy website. They’re always having a 10-20% off sale going on at any one time. As long as it’s not elite CCM or Bauer, you’ll get the discount, even if the stick just came out like the Warrior DX. They also have a clearance section you can check out a loyalty points program.

Sher-wood. They used to be a popular brand when sticks were all wood. Also, check out prostockhockey.com for sticks that are cheaper than retail, there's a pretty wide selection so you should be able to find a player's stick that matches your lie/curve needs. The thing I've been doing for awhile is getting separate composite shafts and replacement blades. They do weigh a bit more than one-piece composite sticks. That's more of an eBay hunt. One legitimate seller with brand-name replacement blades I found was https://www.hokejam.com/ which is a hockey store in Latvia.

Sher-Wood. Otherwise you are better off going with last years (or the year prior) top of the line sticks when they are heavily discounted. Also, Pro Stock options are great too!

Clearance, sale, and pro stock and you can get mainstream sticks for good prices.

If you are liking the P19 as it is a good all-around curve, try out the P29 from CCM or the P92 from Bauer. Those curves would also be a TC2 or TC2-5. Really accurate shot, accurate passing and great sauce. But there is a lot more to it than just the curve. I think as caveman mentioned above, a little more information would be helpful like your flex. What is your height and weight and what type of shot do you most typically take?

    I didn’t like it - felt like/looked like I was playing with a shovel.

I'm still an active two-piece user, and True has the best combo on the market IMO with the A6.0. I've only used the short-hosel tapered blades and have not had these issues in over a year of use. The blades on my 1st gen XC9 and A6.0 OPS did wear rather quickly (sounds like this has been corrected with the 2nd gen from what I have read), but no complaints about the two-piece blade durability. I just hope they continue to offer the HCS/Lidstrom pattern. Currently, they're the only manufacturer that offers it retail. 😬

Here’s a photo of the method I use for this, in case anyone is interested. The tape adds just enough thickness to make things a little more snug while still maintaining some adhesive properties in place of the glue that it’s covering.
