Yea I spoke to the guy who wore these skates, he confirmed they're an early Marsblade Prototype. These chassis will be geared towards handling actual game play and not just training.

It's normal for edge holders to have movement, but it's not normal 🙃. I've never had any movement in my ls2 holders or my SB 4.0. My experience with Edge was a nightmare I'll never go through again.

Under further inspection, they are definitely done. The entire outsole is separated from the boot on both skates. The steel definitely moves too. Maybe the damage to the boot was caused by the lack of rigidity and extra torsion in the steel. Oh well. I guess I need new skates now. Maybe I’ll think about switching to XS holders of Flare makes steel for them the next time I need a set.

Took your advice and dropped the eyelids, best skate ever and it didn't take to long to get use to it.

When talking about Tacks, you need to specify if you're talking about the original revival line, (I think around 2012) or the current/previous generation Super Tacks line. They are very different fits. To answer your question, no, Bauer skates will not give you more forward flex. In fact, at equal price points CCM skates generally are a bit softer than Bauer. If the Tacks skate fits you well, your best bet is to either learn to skate without the top eyelet, (will take a few ice times to get used to it) or adjust your lacing. You can also install lace locks to help with modified lacing.
