  1. After reading much of this tread i feel like its time to say a few things. First off when they say "founder of HockeyMonkey" thats a bend of the truth. HawkHockey was a small pro shop in Costa Mesa, Ca (started by this Hockey Tron founder) Thats, it, just a pro shop. It was then bought by the current owner of Hockey Monkey who made it what it is today. After the buy, the store was moved to its current Santa Ana Ca, location and the online store was build to what it is today. Not sure of the other retailer claims they make, i just know that part of the story. HockeyTron is centered in So California here, and while i work at HockeyMonkey, i see people at all the rinks using Tron gear. I even played a tournament with a Tron employee and he even admitted the gear isn't the greatest. Couple guys were using the Tron 405 stick (copy of the RS) and it was not one bit like the RS. It was a 4x concave shaft geometry, heavier, and there was all sorts of manufacturing deformities in the blade. In addition, both the guys said they weren't nearly as durable. They could have tried a little harder. Haven't actually been in the store so i haven's seen all the gear but i may take a trip over there sometime soon.
  2. In addition the outsole on the Bauers is by far the strongest. Currently i have G35s mounted, but people have had issues in the past with Grafs falling apart. Since nearly all Bauer skates are ultra stiff, they hold up longer than most skates would.
  3. Thought it would be worth it to show off these... my friends skates he just finished today. One.9 LE, Mission Mag, Addictions
  4. A G3 and a G35 is the same fit with the G3 being low volume and a 35 being mid volume. I have really narrow, flat feet with medium depth so i tend to crease and mangle any boot with too much volume or width. Thats what ended up happening to my 11ks. G35s and vapors are a pretty similar fit and depth, but with my flat feet, it seemed much worse in the vapors.
  5. My 11ks kicked it after just a few months with the entire sole of the boot coming detached. Went to my work, HockeyMonkey and picked out some new boots. Wanted to go with Bauer for the support but even the vapors have too much volume for my foot. Frankly, i got weird feet. Settled on G35s and was able to mount them that evening before my game. Maybe a mistake, my feet were crying the entire game. Anyways, heres the new setup: Graf G35 X Mission Vanguard Mission Swiss Splits x6 Addictions x2 Was a little worried about the inside #3 rivet being mounted on the "fabric hole" (even before reading previous posts) so i threw a shim made out of riser plastic in there to give it some support. dont mind the goal skates, although those will be converted to roller soon enough...
  6. Pickups from the Ducks Equipment sale. Biggest regret is passing up some brand new franchise gloves in favor of the x:60s. Yes, i realize one pair doesnt match. Sticks: Fowler Totalone, 95, Backstrom (rookie year?) Macenauer One95 (painted as custom Totalone) 95, Backstrom Ebbett SE16, 85, similar to Kane 2 pairs of x:60 pros, 11k skates w/ step steel
