  1. My feet are slightly wide, but I don't normally wear wide shoes. I wore at 7.5 Nexus that felt pretty good and then went to a 7.5 EE Mako 2 that felt comfortable. But I did not get that magical feeling that most users on this thread have. I like my Makos, but I'm not stocking up on them with the discontinuation. I tried a 7.5D Mako in the store and after baking it still felt a little too tight.
  2. Yesterday I tried wearing the Skate Fenders Pro guard size small/medium that fit on my Make 2 7.5 EE. They're not the most slim and close fitting things imaginable but seem to do the job. I didn't notice any performance difference with them on.
  3. I think my foot is similar to yours. I was in a Bauer Nexus 7.5 before, now in Mako 2 7.5 EE. I tried the Vapor but definitely too narrow. The Mako fit after baking is good, but I still never feel like "OMG Most comfortable thing in the world!" feeling others have said in this thread. I don't know, maybe I just fit a Nexus very well. Definitely feel the aggressive pitch and better energy transfer than my lower end model Nexus. I also swapped out the default Mako insole for the Graft low arch insole and that seems to be working.
  4. Thanks for the advice Althoma1. I went to Paragon Sports in NYC. They're having a 20% off sale for all Easton skates plus $50 gift card for purchases $500-750. Went with the 7.5EE and skated on them for the first time today. The aggressive pitch made me feel unbalanced but got better throughout the skate. Definitely felt faster than my old Nexus skates.
  5. After lurking on this topic for a long time I finally went to purchase a pair. I normally wear 7.5D Bauer Nexus so tried that size first (Mako M8) after baking. They were super super snug borderline uncomfortable. After about 10 minutes the bottom of my feet were getting numb and tingly and my right ankle where I've previously broke it started hurting. I then tried 8.0D (Mako 2) and while they were more comfortable, now my left foot started getting some pain on the outside at the bottom. Because this store had no return policy and I wasn't loving either pair I decided to pass. I really want to love these skates. Any thoughts? Worth trying again? Edit for clarification - I tried each pair after baking.
