  1. Yea, that's why I can't got back to the rink. You can do everything right and you come across the "right" person and you're left holding the bag. Praying that you get better quickly with no after affects. Miss being at the rink but there are just too many idiots out and about for me to expose myself. Stay safe boys.
  2. FIVE BEST: Yotes, Caps, Blues, Wild & KingsFIVE WORST: Red Wings, Smashville, Stars, Tampa & TorontoFIVE HON. MENTION: Avs, NJ, Knights, Carolina, Buffalo & CBJ Best: I like these because I'm a sucker for throwback references haha. I think these sweaters do a great job of doing that via color and/or logo. Worst: I just think these are too plain. Doesn't seem like much was done to make them more unique from the standard jerseys. Honorables: These ones I really like and would've been my "Next Five Best" if there was such a category. The rest didn't move the needle for me in either direction.
  3. Yea, I liked the shaft and the feel of the puck when I used them. I'd be all for an updated 2-Piece setup for inline as a rarely take slap shots.
  4. Well, look at the bright side: you won't be able to miss them when worn on the ice haha. As an Easton Mako fanboy, looks are overrated haha😌
  5. Had the same issues when I tried out their combo. Wasn't overly impressed.
  6. Totally agree. The holidays and cold don't bode well for immune systems. Everyone stay safe.
  7. Got that Seattle Seahawks feel about it haha. It'll appeal to the younger folk haha.
  8. Doc retires: Not player related but the broadcasting landscape changes again. I'd rather listen to Canadian broadcasts but Doc was consistent in transmitting excitement (for better or worse haha).
  9. This is why I haven't been anywhere close to hockey since mid-March. I'm HOPING that everyone will be proactive in trying to stay healthy and be willing to open their mouth if they get sick. And yes, that's a lot to ask for of some people so I've stayed away. I'm happy for those of you who've been back at hockey with no issues. I hope that continues.
  10. I remember seeing something similar but USA Hockey has information based on a study(ies) that has been done in the past: https://www.usahockey.com/playersafety Report_Regarding_Immediate_Proximity_Associated_with_Body_Contact_in_Ice_Hockey.pdf
  11. Haha no doubt. I'm jaded as a Flyers fan seeing these type of retreaded players (regardless of talent) come in and seeing the hype around them for no justifiable reason. The difference here is that TOR actually has YOUNG star power. Veteran presence is at is best the younger players can take on the majority of the team's success.
  12. Toronto adds another "back 9" vet in Joe Thorton:
  13. I wonder if the delay is due to boarder restrictions or just not wanting Canadian teams being exposed to America?
  14. The VGK domino effect: Nate Schimdt traded to VAN -
  15. I didn't see this one coming but Devon Toews gets traded to COL: Joe Sakic once again isn't settling with the roster that left the Bubble and I'm left impressed with another one of his off-season transactions. It was a limited sample but when the Islanders played the Flyers, I was impressed with Toews' play during the series. While 2 2nd drafts isn't exactly a giveaway, you'd have to imagine that the Avs will be one the top teams for the next couple of years. The Avs are getting a younger and seasoned blueliner that seems to be coming into his own in the NHL. While the Islanders seem to be shed some salary for cap space. On a side note, it looks like Johnnie Boychuk could be next to go.
  16. Good point about the glasses. I wear contacts while playing sports but I can see fog being an issues for those who wear glasses while playing hockey. I know I also experience my glasses getting fogged when I where a mask during the few times I venture out per week.
  17. This was rumored the most over the weekend so no surprise here - Alex Pietrangelo to VGK:
  18. Since I've removed myself from hockey this year, I'm out of the hockey loop. I do know that that was one known report of a player (Tier-II Youth) that got coronavirus. Once again, things could be worse but I'm not privy to that information.
  19. From Hall's perspective, I agree at face value. With COVID-19, I don't think he had the market he was looking for. So given the high probability that he still is in his prime, he goes for the highest AAV and gets to ball out for a LTC starting in 2021-22.
  20. Hello! Taylor Hall to BUF! Eichel is sure to approve haha: I like the signing. It gives Hall a chance to prove himself again as one of the top forwards in the game while giving Eichel a chance to play with another (super)star.
  21. Thanks for dumbing it down for this non-goalie hockey player haha. Get better soon!
  22. A little late but the King heads down I-95 to sign with the Capitols:
  23. Probably the most interesting FA signing thus far (to me) is Tyson Barrie going to EDM: I like the deal because Barrie has the ability to be their PP QB. Toronto is a tough place to play and reminds of how my city treats the Eagles and football. Barrie clearly isn't the most defensive blueliner but his offensive upside should fit in well with Oilers. I'll be intrigued to see how this goes this upcoming season.
