  1. Wow, 6 figures for a screwup with reporting a player. Damn.
  2. Neither Goligoski nor Kunitz to play tonight vs Montreal. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_657060.html Also , bottom of page, interesting little story about all the Penguins problems getting into Montreal because of the weather. Crazy snow lol.
  3. Well yes, that is true. It does sometimes seem like guys throw the body all night long but only get a hit or two on the sheet. Maybe the pens stats ppl are just padding the stats. LOL.
  4. Sarge says power play can't get any worse http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...=rss&feed=8 I hope to see some of these changes. I like Malkin up top cause of his blast or his ability if he has some space to come in and take a wrist or snap shot. Not to mention he has a great pass as well. He can also rotate down to the half boards easily if their is space. Defensive liability though but not much more than Gonchar is from a PP perspective. If the Pens can get the PP rolling and the last few pieces of the lineup put back together should be in good shape and win some games :) I also wanted comments/reactions to this http://www.nhl.com/ice/teamstats.htm?fetch...e=realTimeStats The penguins as a team lead the NHL in hits. When most people think of the Penguins they think speed, skill, finesse, but its nice that there is obviously more to it than that. The hard forecheck and throw the body. Keep in mind they're missing all the hits Kunitz/Orpik would have added to that total. I think its a pretty darn good mixture of power/hitting/finesse in the lineup right now. Plus there is several scrappy guys that can fight as well as the big man Goddard for when things get really nasty. I like it :) Broadstreet bullies way down the bottom of the list.
  5. Today... http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=508964 Fleury looks like shit tonight. ugh. freaking carolina.
  6. Goligoski back in a game or two maybe but he will return before Kunitz unless he suffers a setback. Sun, Dec 6 LW Chris Kunitz has missed 11 straight games with a lower-body injury and said Saturday night he is frustrated by not being able to at least practice with teammates. Head coach Dan Bylsma said Kunitz is progressing, but his return is likely at least two weeks away. -Yahoo!.com There was a blurb on penguins website from Bylsma saying they were on different timelines. From penguins official website good news :
  7. This is the best I can do without the reverse angle. What really makes me think the hit is dirty is look at where the puck is. Kane has control of the puck along the boards on the other side of the ref while Cooke was/is kinda standing there waiting for the puck to pop out. He's not even really in the play. Its not as if the puck is on his stick or he had just got rid of the puck. I think the reason so many Pens fans are upset about the hit is because Cooke as you know just got suspended for a head shot to Anisimov, and he HAD just gotten rid of the puck as he cut through the middle of the ice when Cooke hit him. Of course, its been a few days and nothing disciplinary is going to happen so its pretty much over and done with now, however I think Cooke had a right to be questioning a hit like that. Thankfully neither he nor Keith was hurt on either play. The game was kinda chippy and 'playoff atmosphere' from the first puck drop which was awesome. Too bad it wasn't a home and home or game 1 of a series.. maybe later ;)
  8. If Keith has the nuts to run someone he should have the nuts to step up to the plate when he's challeneged. You said it yourself, if you run someone, be ready for the response of equal or greater consequence. Keith pussed out plain and simple. Dirty headshot hit. Same exact thing Cooke just got suspended for. Cooke could have done much more damage to Keith in that position if he had chose to. In my opinion, which I'm sure is different than yours, Cooke let keith off pretty easy. He easily could've really plastered Keith if he wanted to. I don't care who you are or who you root for, if you don't think Keith gave him a headshot something is wrong. edit.
  9. I feel bad for Matt Bradley. That was an ouchie from Carcillo.
  10. exactly what i said when that hit happened. Atleast Anisimov had just got rid of the puck. Cooke was just standing there watching basically.
  11. That's great as long as it doesn't happen at the Olympics or during the playoffs. Olympics sure, playoffs... I would venture a guess that the Penguins will be in a good enough spot to rest some key guys up prior to the post season. As was stated earlier in the year rest throughout the year is key for these guys. Groins will always affect NHL players and the compressed schedule doesnt really help anyone injury wise. Hopefully its more precautionary than anything and he'll return in a game or two. At any rate, Geno is healthy soooo and almost all the defense is back so things are still looking better than they did a week or two ago :D
  12. As long as he's smart about it and eases up when it starts to bother him and skip a game or two rather than play and play until he has to miss weeks or months because of a surgery or something he should be able to last quite awhile.
  13. I'd do anything to have a girl that good looking tugging on..anything.. of mine that hard while making that face. LOL @ Shane Doan comment as well :)
  14. Crosby out of the lineup with a groin injury. http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=508760
  15. I agree completely. Punish the action and not the result. I also feel though, that if you've been ejected twice in a week (rightfully or wrongfully so) you should probobly sit a game or two as a 'tone it down' or 'use your brain' kinda deal. Whether it be hits from behind, a knee, a slash, a fighting type of ejection or a combination of any of those if your racking up misconducts they should probobly just suspend the player a game or two. AllSmoke I know we havn't seen eye to eye ni the past but talking in general here not just about Ovechkin.
  16. 19. Richard's Three Stars - On March 23, 1944, Richard stacked his resume with a brilliant playoff performance, scoring all five goals in a 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs and picked as the evening's first, second and third star - the first time any player swept the honours. I didn't know that was possible. Do they still do that? :)
  17. Alex Ovechkin per nhl.com Its kidna funny how even the players know that if the guy gets up and isn't hurt, they proooobably won't get into any extra trouble. Shameful. Ejected twice in a week and doesnt even get one game as a warning. edit: Ovechkin Suspended two games http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=508198 Kinda suprised it happened but I think its deserved.
  18. I believe your right about Malone and absolutely correct on Toews now that you mention the name. I'm pumped up about the rematch against the Rangers tonight :)
  19. Its always great to get a hattrick on free hat night! Best ever was when the blackhawks gave away plastic hard hats or some shit like that and someone got a hatty..those things were bouncing all over the ice lol. Monday should be a great game!
  20. Yup. Probably coughs up a behind the back pass once a game when its unneccisary. <_<
  21. I cant believe Crosby actually got a spinning backhand pass to connect. Spectacular when it works. Price didn't have a chance on the goal by Gonchar. Guerins was pretty weak and Sid beat him with a nice shot using the Dman as a screen. Price wasn't getting much help so what can ya say . Good game for the Pens. 4th line was a beast tonight.
  22. Got smoked last night.. Couldn't seem to get much sustained puck possession or pressure.. hope they come up with a better effort tomorrow.
  23. Gonchar expected to play tonight
