  1. We're freezing up the coast from you Optimus. 79 degrees out, almost had to use my AC today
  2. I'm assuming you're looking at the non-plus RPD intermediates yeah? The 52" looks like a typo, I just measured from the top of the handle to the heel of the blade that makes contact with the ice. It's 56". Site's updated too.
  3. They fit great, I like the grippy texture that sits on the forearm. They just felt huge compared to my old pair, but what isn't these days on the market ha. Overall, I like 'em but would probably go with something more low-pro like the RBZ's next time. You weren't lying about Legitsville, man were they comfy and protective. Not to mention the 37.5 dries out real quick post-game.
  4. Finally decided to upgrade my shins & elbows. They're getting their first run through tomorrow morning, looking forward to testing out the 37.5 in the APX2's. For reference: both shin's are 14" and both elbows are mediums,
  5. I'm not sure about stiffness but I do know the COR increases as you go from the heel to the toe. On the SuperFast, it also increases much more rapidly than the Stage 2.
  6. Very close buddy. In this case it's the removable liner, thicker foams, better moisture management and the Free-Flex piece near the bottom of the shinny. I'm working on a page to explain general differences between Rec, Performance and Elite Levels of Play.
  7. Nope but it sure looks like it though! haha.
  8. What a beut of a stick. I miss those Stealths!
  9. Thanks buddy, that'd be much appreciated. Any unique tips to anyone looking to do this set-up?
  10. Beut's! Got a co-working wanting to do the same thing to her pair. Can you send a pic of the mount?
  11. Thanks buddy! Those were my favorite boots of all time *sheds a tear*.
  12. Forgot I had these hidden in my storage. Bent the frame and can't use 'em anymore, they were my last pair I used for club hockey.
  13. It looks even better in person than in the pic. The new quarter and liner on the top two PP's look and feel great. They should be worth the wait.
  14. It wasn't working out aesthetically as well as structurally. The protection didn't live up to the hype and I guess it just didn't look good.
  15. I talked to Easton's stick line manager Mike Mountain and asked the same question. The best way to differentiate between kick points is that the Mako II is a "low" mid-kick and the RS II is an "ultra" low-kick. Using the heel of the blade and the mid-point of the shaft, the Mako II is kicks much closer to the center where as the RS II kicks much closer to the heel.
  16. Couldn't agree more, that's a big selling point on how the material turns to mush after 16 minutes, I just wanted to state the fit straight outta the box. I remember meeting with Easton quite some time ago and they named a couple of pro's that didn't care to mold them because they fit so nicely out of the box. Those "pro's" must have crazy shaped feet.
  17. Just got a sample pair in and they fit like nothing else I've ever put my foot in.. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that out of the box they're one of the most snug fitting skates to date. These are a D width and I feel concentrated pressure on the inside of my feet between the arch and the balls of my feet. I'll be baking them tonight and I believe (and hope) that they're going to stretch out the little bit I need to feel nice and comfortable. Can anyone else confirm?
  18. Correct but that was going from the Mako II directly to the M5 II. By itself, the M5 II still has a good balance and weight (lighter than the last year's Mako) but just not AS nice as the Mako II.
  19. Not a problem my friend. In my honest opinion, I think it's worth it. The Mako II is crazy light and has a great balance point, when I grabbed the M5 II immediately after it I definitely did not like the additional heaviness in the blade and different balance point at all. I will say that if you did get the M5 II, you're gonna be happy with it because of how closely related it is to the Mako II.
  20. It is very similar in construction but has added material in the blade and in the shaft to increase the durability. There's definitely an apparent change in weight/balance from Mako II -> M5 II, but I personally have weighed all of these mentioned sticks and the M5 II is lighter than last year's Mako by a few grams. I really like the flex profile of the Mako II's, there's no visible taper but the change in material properties gives it a solid low-kick point. Once you get into the M3 II, you lose the Uni-Carbon construction and gain the Ultra-Thin taper (same as last year's Mako), providing it with a stiffer feeling flex profile than the M5 II or Mako II
  21. Killed our Cal Beach Team too haha.. You guys look awesome from the highlights I watched, how long have they been playing together? PS: Congrats on the 'ship!
  22. JR might have to confirm this but I believe mid-April the APX 2's are out. Chase @ IW Hockey
  23. The only minor disadvantage to the taller holder (which I hope isn't just me) is that the APX 2 felt like it look a split second longer to get back on the opposite edges after a sharp turn. In other words, the extra lean you gain with the new added height means you have that much more ground to retrace and it was noticeable. Another one of our guys felt the same way when we got to try the 2's out last year. As for the aggressiveness and sharpness of a turn you can achieve with the APX 2's, amazing. I had just skated my RS' a couple days prior and these blew them out of the water. Chase @ IW Hockey
  24. I just started doing the video reviews on all the gear this week.. The shoulders were awesome, they give you a really nice contoured wrap around your body and offer a lot of mobility in the shoulder area. The elbows were pretty nice, the top of the line was somewhat bulky but that's expected. The shins were real sweet, your knees sink deep into them, the liner has a great grip feature and the flex point was dead on. The pants I haven't really checked out yet, I'll be doing those next week but they look pretty good. Chase @ IW Hockey
  25. As a heads up, Easton did say they were going to selectively limit who's going to be carrying these. Granted, they said that awhile ago when I saw them but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys nonetheless. PS: Just as excited to try these as the rest of you!
