  1. That's why it would be nice to have the non-fused option. If I'm gambling on a curve I'll likely search around for some close-out prostocks I can get at a reduced rate over ordering a custom full-priced stick. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea and I love the program, I just wish it was available in a non-fused option so I could take advantage. Thanks, I must've missed it earlier, but I'm hoping they change that in the future.
  2. Any chance you could order a custom stick that's not fused, so you can change the blades if you want? I'd love to try out some of the custom curves, but it's a gamble when I can't try anything similar before I buy it.
  3. Here's what I gathered. Big kid, very developed physically for his age. Strong and can throw his weight around. Has a bullet shot (seems like a 100% consensus on the kid), but it's not overly accurate and that's why he doesn't score more. He can grind and throw big hits (his coach claimed he was one of the best hitters in the Q at 17 years old), but he lacks top line potential.
  4. Looks like they locked up Savard long term. 7 years with a cap hit of 4.2. Contract will take him until he's 40 years old. Looks like a good deal to me, Cap hit is insanely good for now at least and I don't see him falling off a ton with age. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=300651
  5. Heard a band UUVVWWZ the other day and really liked them. Especially the Song "Shark Suit". Haven't been able to download anything from them, or locate a CD, but they have a myspace page and a few sites let you stream some songs.
  6. I remember when they first came out, some were saying it was to help teach proper form on slapshots by forcing kids to shoot behind the puck. That would be the Harpoon Latch system. I just glued those blades in. I think most people did, I liked the blades, but the rubber teeth were lacking. Glad you remembered the name or I'd be searching for it now. I really liked the look of the original and it did well around here, but the follow-up ones (with two colours) had alot of trouble around here.
  7. Someone mentioned them earlier, but I've been listening to Placebo a fair bit recently. I really like their cover of "Big Mouth Strikes Again"
  8. I believe he is saying your son may be embarassed by your tattoo.
  9. I'm really not seeing the point of this and really think you will outgrow it, especially if you haven't come up with your own concept for the tattoo. I know you got bashed last time, and don't want it to turn out this way, but if you are really serious, sit down, talk it over with the mother, get her impressions and look at some work which resembles what you want. Brainstorm a bit. Tattoo's should be personal. You want it to mean something about you and your son, very few people on here should feel the bond that you want to have. Plus if you wait, you may find a defining moment that sparks you on what to get.
  10. I thought your brother was a D-man? Congrats to him, nice article.
  11. I don't have alot on the computer in terms of newer stuff I like so this thread is very helpful. I like the Gym Class heroes that Mack mentioned. One "underground" band I listed to is Elliott Brood. It's labelled as "death country", but it's essentially Alternative with a Banjo mostly. It's a little weird, but not bad and you get used to them. Cadillac Dust is their best song and easiest to use to get into their music. Also, I'm listening to a bit of Death From Above 1979, anyone know of some bands with a similar sound?
  12. Did you say you used the Schaefer curve?
  13. It's not always the same and sometimes length is important.
  14. I'd order customs. Seems like you have become accustomed to this pattern. If not, keep your eyes peeled for prostocks.
  15. :) That actually the shortest of all the ones I have. I ran out of tape.
  16. Guess I'm a little late to the party http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/240/accelerationhs6.jpg http://img479.imageshack.us/img479/7528/breakoutlt1.jpg http://img479.imageshack.us/img479/8227/emtz5.jpg
  17. That's the thing, it's his money and it's what he wants to do. We don't know what he paid, we don't know how regularly he breaks sticks and we don't know what his lifestyle is built around.
  18. Because they did a special promotion for Breast Cancer and alot of players were able to do this if they wanted. I guess the other companies gave the Okay because of the cause.
  19. He hasn't been around in a while, eh... Wonder where he is. I always hope he has another one of those crazy glove blow-outs.
  20. the leafs already had 2, 1 at centre sports at the acc, then 2 with the marlies (with everything that didnt sell at the acc) when was this ? the acc had one a few years ago. Nothing since then. I don't remember the Marlies having one either. This is their first year in existence. I posted one about the Marlies. It was a week or two back. I'd like to get down to one of the Leafs ones, but I bet they have all of their non-used sticks in center sports right now anyways. If you are thinking of going please PM me... about either Center sports or for other people in the MTL area going to the Habs sale.
  21. What equipment will they have then?
  22. Match the Flyweights?
  23. I'm thinking the 609 may be up your alley. Most skates used to kill my arch, but the 609 seemed to work out well as it's flatter and deeper than most other boots.
  24. I have a blade. Not as good as the normal ones, but better than the competition. Feels like plastic/ceramic off-ice, but there is decent feel on it. Performance is alright. Inno's feel was head and shoulders above all else in my opinion. This is just good, and definately comparable to other composite blades.
