  1. Does anyone know whether the large O1 chassis can accommodate 80mm wheels? I'm thinking of doing a 76/80/80/76 setup
  2. Tan Clarino was recommended to me by a few people I know that already had a pair. No complaints! Also I love your product from when I was using them in my Mako IIs, they really make a difference in comfort (I'm not good enough to know if my performance was affected).
  3. I did not give any specifications to the placement of the eyelets, but it didn't appear to affect the wrap it has around my foot. The blacksteel steps were added at no cost (Thanks Rob); though it would've been cool to get a pair of those new step holders too. I asked for additional copper eyelets as I've ran into problems with the normal eyelets falling out in other skates. I also changed the laces to yellow waxed graf laces (a la Ovi) as well as pull out the tongue as I thought it to be installed too deep inside the toe box. Overall impressed with the total package. While Mako IIs feel like sneakers, these feel like home xmas slippers on your feet (with the powerfoot insole) to erase any negative space.
  4. Got my VH skates 2 weeks ago and I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the product. Shout out to adrenaline's powerfoot inserts for the perfect combination of comfort and performance added to the already amazing package that is the skate. The first game with these skates on felt a little weird coming from Mako IIs, but since then it's only made me fall in love with them more and more. I ordered mine with the traditional sketching and pictures, no 3d scan. My only complaint was getting my foot in the first few times even after baking it, but they have videos explaining where to heat spot the skate to remedy this. Overall love the skates!ī7
  5. Worked out to be an ez fix for me and no sacrifice in comfort; no more blister and found a use for my powerfoots! I'll keep this thread updated as I continue to test this setup, we'll only know it works for certain after a handful of games.
  6. Pics for those curious as to how the powerfoots were used.
  7. I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THE MAKO BUMPS! It was right under our noses too.. POWERFOOT! I had a pair of powerfoot that I bought but couldn't use in my Mako2's due to them making the toe box too tight. Whilst removing them from my boot, I realized the shape would fit the contour that's been eating at my ankles... So what I did was stick those powerfoots laterally in the inside of the boot; hence, giving me a soft and comfortable pad for my ankle to rest on. Believe it or not, it feels as though it adds no volume whatsoever with the added bonus of removing the cause for the mako bumps! Anyways, shoutout to Powerfoot, these things feel nice and cozy no matter where you decide to stick'em!
  8. I'm still confused as to what's causing the 'mako bumps'; at first I thought it was the screws holding the tendon guard, but from reading earlier posts it appears to be the the contour of the upper section of the skate that might be rubbing/digging into the ankle as icewalker_bg had stated. Is there no surefire fix?
  9. Sorry I don't really understand what you mean but roll it out gently... Can you please clarify? Thanks in advance!
  10. Some thoughts after skating on these skates for 2 months now. 1 - The best fitting skates I've ever worn, literally nothing comes close. They feel like wearing sneakers. I also played around using different insoles (superfeet yellow, Graf sidas and Bauer speedplates); I've gotta say that speedplates enhance the feel of this skate the most. 2 - They are light as hell, I feel like I can add another step or two into my acceleration and that's a huge plus when you want to burn people. 3 - They held up well so far, they still look new even though I've skated a good amount on them. My only concern in terms of the make is the shock absorption; I took a minor shot to the foot and it hurt like hell. For that reason, I'd recommend probably ordering a pair of shotblockers or for those who don't want to spend that doe skatefenders instead. 4 - Mako bumps.. I thought they fixed this from the previous model, but my ankles say otherwise. I am currently looking into remedies to fix this problem as it's the only reason holding me back completely loving this skate. All in all, I am quite happy with my purchase aside from the Mako Bumps, if anyone can suggest ideas or methods to fix this, it would be very appreciated! Regards, Kyosuke
  11. I just got my Mako2s and they have the same thing on the left skate heel. I believe it's just cosmetic as other posters have stated. These skates fit like a glove, but seem to be a pain to put on.. I'll also need to look into getting thinner socks.
  12. Thanks caseyjones (ninja turtles?), I ordered a pair and I'll let you guys know how they are after I've had 1-2 games with them!!
  13. I'm thinking of buying a pair of Mako IIs this weekend on clearance sale. Currently, I wear reebok 14Ks 9EE (there is a little of negative space); however, the only size available for the Mako IIs are 8.5D. I am not really concerned in terms of length due to having previously worn 8.5 Bauers/CCMs, but I was hoping that someone here can give me their opinion on the width of this skate... After having gone through 90% of this thread, I'm pretty stoked to get a pair. But I'm afraid that the width may be too narrow and end up causing out-sole pain and arch pain during use. Thanks!
