  1. Tired of people professing their expertise and then totally screwing something up. Friends, family, coworkers, etc.... getting really tired of it.
  2. That's what they would like you to believe. Usually the materials used aren't even close.
  3. Bigger, but I don't know if anyone could say who was stronger in a hockey context. Only giving away 26lbs over 4", PK could very well have an advantage in that regard. If the league continues to regress back into the clutch and grab game, then Weber may be serviceable for a little longer than some people are guessing.
  4. For some reason I was thinking the Thornton trade. I keep forgetting how history repeats itself at times.
  5. I do it all the time, it's great for springing guys early in the game. Usually the D adjusts and is less likely to hold the line later in the game making it easier to exit the zone.
  6. Didn't they win a cup after that? Bad trade or not, it worked out in Boston for the short term.
  7. I don't believe that they will match up at all
  8. I think that's exactly it. PK is high risk, high reward and Weber is low risk. Unfortunately, it's also comparatively low reward as well. He has a cannon from the point, but isn't all that close to PK in any other aspect of the game.
  9. Thanks, I appreciate the offer. I've pretty much come around to the understanding that it will always be with me, but will eventually not always be front of mind.
  10. Today would have been my wife's birthday.
  11. Andersen to Leafs #30 pick to Ducks, 2nd round pick in 2017 http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/16372468/anaheim-ducks-trade-frederik-andersen-toronto-maple-leafs
  12. Oh, it's all on Stan. A lot of people were pretty vocal about it being a bad deal and it turns out that we were right. Anisimov is the easiest to replace, Shaw would have been fine in that role this year. The lack of internal development and trading of young players is really starting to catch up with the Hawks. If they can continue to sign entry level free agents from college and Europe, they can continue to mask the problem a bit longer. However, those guys are unlikely to be true top 6 forwards or top 4 defensemen. I thought the Crawford contract was another mistake by Stan. Way too many dollars for a guy that had been inconsistent to that point. If his money was spent on the defense, I think they would be better off.
  13. Nice to see the Hawks finally dump the contract that they never should have signed in the first place. It really sucks to see them have to give up Tuevo in order to get someone to take the bad contract off their hands. Without the Bickell deal on the books, I believe that they may very well have won another cup along the way. http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/16229921/carolina-hurricanes-acquire-teuvo-teravainen-bryan-bickell-chicago-blackhawks
  14. They only want the penalties called on the other team, their team should be allowed to get away with it.
  15. Nobody ever had to go to the hospital because a ref called a game too tight. Calling any penalties qualifies as too tight for a lot of guys, as well.
  16. I may be setting a personal record for the longest, and most expensive, run of bad luck I've ever had. Stereo in the car died, had to replace head, amp and run a lot of new wiring. Once finished, the water pump went out. Normally, that isn't too bad but the engine then overheated as I was nursing it home and it took out the IMS bearing and now the engine is shot. Still waiting to hear about the replacement cost, but it isn't going to be pleasant. Meanwhile, while driving my FJ, I've hit a deer and had a stone crack my windshield.
  17. Ahh, the original Bananahan. I haven't seen one of them in years
  18. It's funny how the curves that people say they want are always the worst selling ones from years past.
  19. Beast wishes to the folks I knew (and didn't know) at Graf Canada. A lot of good people are now looking for work in a shrinking industry.
  20. Great story, I've heard great things about Toby from some folks that know him a bit.
  21. I made the shop smell like bad chinese food way too many times
  22. Yeah, I got mine shortly before the initial product launch. Monkey had 35% off clearance prices last week. They had my size, I needed skates, I pulled the trigger.
  23. There was a surprisingly good selection of pro stock gear at the STX warehouse sale today. I'm sure there was even more yesterday when it started. They even dug through the back room and found a X91 curve for me. The only curve ball is that it's a Surgeon, not a Stallion.
  24. Yeah, those were the ones they sent me before the retail release. It happened while I was playing in a tournament, there was a small crack after one game and I tried to play the next game without fixing the crack. oh well, I just ordered a pair of mako IIs and they should be here by the weekend.
