If you take your time and load every shot it may not be much diff. But if you're wanting to get a shot off in diff positions where you may not be able to take your time and load the stick completely, that's probably where the flex and kick point will play a bigger role. Or off balance shots with a 100 flex vs 85

I can see this being bc the knob is not actually part of the stick as one piece. It's added on and has diff properties as the actual stick. The feel may not feel drastically different but for those who are keen, I can see it feeling diff. Whether the ACTUAL flex rating changes could be a different story though.

What's going on here? What kind of spacer is that? I see he used the stock helmet mounts to mount the spacer on. But then it also looks like his Oakley aviator visor has custom drilled holes. Doesn't even look like the visor has the stock holes in them.

Retails are likely made in China. People knock on things made in China and although there are some pretty shitty quality things coming from China, or dollar store stuff, the products coming from China from big names have pretty good QC. I would imagine the retails look way better in terms of fit and finish. From pics I've seen it already looks way better in terms of stitching, lack of glue residue, etc. Attention to detail is definitely something the Chinese are very good at... And reputation. All those factories probably fighting to get the contract to make products for diff companies.

I'm glad it worked out for you but the arch should have been build into the skate with your scan. I get there are some tweaks to get it to fit to your liking but you seem to have done quite a bit to the point that the skate might as well have been stock.

Over a year later and I finally put myself in these pants. Like you said ft1 small was too small lol. Medium fits perfect. I'll probably keep them but the only negative I have with the pants are they the legs are looser than vapors and qredge. Not a deal breaker, and they do advertise them as snug in hips and looser in the legs which is exactly what they are. I'll see how they are on the ice. Worst case I can just slim the opening a bit by tailoring the inseam where it's just stretch gussets. The medium ft1 fit around the hips and waist pretty similar to my qredge in small. I tried the as1 in a small and they fit quite a bit looser than the ft1 which isn't a surprise since they are a looser cut pant, but I really didn't like the shape of the pants as it's a fuller cut and I'm a slim jeans jeans kind of guy.

I'd go medium Bauer, even though you fall in the higher end of their small... Depends how you like the fit though. Vapor, for sure no smaller than medium. I'm 5'10 165. 32 inch waist 31 pant. And I wear a small in qredge. Medium in ft1. Was a small in my old one95 too. I fit a medium jetspeed girdle but had to cinch the belt quite a bit. I feel the small would've fit better for me in that. Best way really is to try it.

If you say so, but I purchased the 13 and they are unwearable. 14 to me fit more like a 13.5" tbh.

Hockeyreviews.ca said that the pro sticks were .5 bigger and also said the new 4rbpro2 were .5 bigger too. I can tell you the letter is wrong. The 4r pro2 are the same as other retail sizing, if not even a touch shorter. I know it doesn't answer your question about actual pro stocks but just throwing that in there

At least it is for Canada. Don't see why it's not for the US as well. Not sure where you're all from though. Just Google it and it'll tell you how to opt in. No hidden fees either just a perk to use PayPal.

PayPal also offers refund on return shipping on purchases made with paypal. Up to 30 bucks a return , 12 times a year. It's a great feature. Used it quite a bit lately bc of covid

Not sure if it's been mentioned but looks like they finally added wear guards. Wonder if only for retail or the customs will have it too. Never been an issue for me but I know some complained about it.

Ya it def worked yesterday. But I don't need it. I just added it to my basket to test it. I got an email from them advising about the true rebate and it even mentioned that it would be counted towards the price before tax and after the auto site discount. So 🤷🏻♂️ Just tried it and you're right. Skates are no go for stack, BUT, it'll work for other true stuff like pants. So you'll still get a decent discount that way if u get both skates and pants to get over the 800 threshold for the 250 off

For you Canadian folks, www.hockeysupremacy.com is having an insane deal for trues. They currently have an automatic 20% site discount on a bunch of stuff sans CCM and Bauer elite. This applies to true tf9 skates. AND you can stack the true discount on top of that. Works out to be just over 400 CDN. For tf9s!!!! Also applies to other true stuff as well.

Get rid of the red footbeds. I don't have a high volume foot by any means and I never liked the fit and feel with the red footbeds in there. I use speed plates and that's all. Even with the custom arch for my trues, I still prefer the rigidity or the speed plates.

Or you can look at it in a way that CCM and Bauer is grossly overpriced. They are the big names in hockey and can drive prices up at will. It's not a coincidence their top end skates sticks etc are pretty much identical in price. Even when on clearance, there is still a profit being made with their gear.

Use a tensor and wrap it through the hole in the holder. I've seen people do this though, and wrap it around the actual holder as well.

Reminds me of when I had edge holders and step steel. And how the steel would never fit properly causing up and down movement in the holders near the front. Felt like I was toe picking all the time lol. Still kind of interested though.

I don't see why it wouldn't be beneficial for the retails. The reason for the shrink wrap method is to negate all possible negative space as the boot cools and prevent it from taking its original shape and or misshapen as you move while the boot is still warm. It also allows you not to tighten the laces very much during the baking process, especially the top few eyelets. Shrink wrapping the retail skates will be totally beneficial. I'm quite opposite than most ppl. I could get my feet in my Trues even before baking. I would say they even felt loose and too big. But after baking , and especially after shrink wrapping they are locked in.

Did they offer to let u try them baked? Kind of pointless if not baked. Even the customs fit bad when you try to wear them unbaked.

My hollow was always 1/2 or 9/16 depending on whether it was summer ice or winter ice. When I got my trues I started with the 16 in the winter and then tried 5/8. I couldn't skate for the life of me with 5/8. Right now I'm back to pretty much 1/2 year round. So although some do switch to a more hollow shallow with trues, it's not an exact rule. For me, I stayed the same after experimenting. Mind you, my profile was quad zero for both my trues and my previous skates so the radius was constant. I'd suggest you have your steel profiled to what you had it before with the same hollow and then go from there.

Never had durability issues so far. The second generation a series had blade chipping issues. My ax9 I've only used a few stick and pucks so can't really comment. The most recent a series ht seems solid. Can't really beat it's price point, especially if you are in Canada. www.hockeysupremacy.com has had them on clearance for 129 for a while now.

The older a series did feel a bit more whippy. But the new ax9 feels more on par with other lines. Can't really compare with Bauer since they are the odd child with a 77 flex rating and not 75... Never tried the xc series sticks. I had one at one point but sold it before I used it. Didn't feel good in my hands.

Fair enough lol. And most ppl buying retails prob could care less about steel. Heck even some pros still like the ls3 stainless.
