  1. Hmmm. Vapor seemed narrower in the forefoot and toe box in the fit 2 vs the Mach not not by that much. That's probably also why I was able to fit in the fit 1 in the Mach as well. Weird that pure doesn't carry the retail true skates
  2. M5 pro is very similar ya. I tried the hyperlite 2 today. Pretty comfy. 7 fit 2 felt good in left but right felt a touch too big since my right is 1/4 size smaller and is also a bit smaller with wise. They didn't have 7 fit 1 in the hyperlites so I tried the 7 fit 1 in x5 and the fit was noticeably diff since it has less padding. The x5 fit 1 felt pretty similar to the hyperlite fit 2. I expected the forefoot to be noticeably narrower in the fit 1 but it wasn't. I have a feeling most of the volume difference is just how far the eyelet facing extends. I also tried a 6.5 fit 2 and it pinched my forefoot and crushed my toes. They didn't have a fit 3 in 6.5 for me to try. Made me realize how shitty retail is for me bc of my size diff in feet. Just for kicks I put my feet on the brannock and surprisingly it had me at a e width which I never thought I was. Always considered myself a d. Brannock said my left was 7.5 and right was just under 7.5. Wonder if the brannock sizing is based on the 1.5 size smaller than shoe size. Brannock was a Bauer one too. Guess there's no point steering away from my true cat pros as nothing retail fits remotely as good.
  3. Toes being jammed isn't really a good sign though. Powerfoot will also reduce volume in the toecap which causes your toes to flatten and splay and thus lengthening a bit as well. If you removed the powerfoot you'd probably feel like you gained a mm or so. I noticed this when adjusting my true skate tongues as the further I have the tongues into the toebox the more my toes pressed against the end of the toebox. Forgot what footbed you had. Superfeet might pull the toes away a bit as well due to how it positions your foot in the skate.
  4. Nice. Machs have a decent amount of padding in the ankle area so it will pack in a bit and provide u a touch more room in your left skate. I had the machs for a short stint and I felt the fit was very good. Heel lock was good for both the fit 1 and 2 that I tried on. I bought the fit 1 but returned them after a skate as I felt a bit of pinching in my pinky which in hindsight probably would've been fine after getting usee to them. But at the time I didn't want to settle and risk it being an issue for $1000 skates. Hope the machs work out for you.
  5. That's strictly a true issue with their cracked heels. But your weight. If the ccm boot is compromised it could get worse depending on how it's constructed. A composite like curv composite Bauer uses is less likely to actually spread in damage vs true that uses straight carbon sheets.
  6. Np. For the rubbing is it causing blisters or is it a hard pressure point that is causing more than blisters. If it's just rubbing/ blistering you can prob grey away with using moleskins for now until the skin heals.
  7. Also with the heels being locked in with no padding in older skates, people suffered from "Bauer bumps" due to the constant friction. What I would've done was skate in your skates for about 10 ice times so the padding breaks in a bit and has packed in. Then Rebake the entire skate so your foot is then molded to the current state of the foams (using tissue technique on ur hot spots). This second bake is fairly common after getting new skates. I think this could've solved your issue too, especially if you used the shrink wrap technique on the second bake.
  8. If you feel some lift while walking but it feels fine skating , leave it. The only time you walk in them is to and from the locker room and it has no impact on your skating on the ice. When skating your knees and ankles are flexed forward and your pushes into the heel pocket vs standing upright and walking. I think with modern skates and the fact ccm has put more padding inside the skates now adays, the heel pocket is a bit more cushioned. Heel pockets used to literally be just lined with the liner and nothing else. You're just used to what you used to have. This was a complaint by some people when they tried true skates for the first time a few years ago. They found the heel lock to not be great for true skates and that was a combination of how much foam true has in the heel pocket and that their heel pocket is deeper than ccm Bauer etc. I felt this way as well but also noticed it didn't affect me on the ice as the heel lock while skating was fine. It was just walking that it didn't feel locked in like my old Bauers did. Personally, if I were you I wouldn't clam the heel. Do the shrink wrap technique. The clamping method is too precise in the location what you want is the entire heel pocket and ankle area to mold around that portion of your foot. With the shrink wrap you can achieve this. Only thing is with shrink wrap you should bake the entire skate and it may mess with the punching you already did. Good luck.
  9. Ya that's bunk. The holder thing could be a reason but that should've been communicated. I also doubt it's the first time they've run into this kind of size difference too. Hopefully u get an update
  10. I had the trigger 8 and used it for maybe 5 periods total. I ended up selling bc I didn't like the puck feel. But what I was concerned about was the dual core blade. I had a feeling a new blade tech could compromise what previously was tried and tested durability wise. Before I sold it I did notice when I checked the blade for stiffness, I heard an ever so soft creak which I've never experienced with ccm since the using ccm. That confirmed it for me to sell and not look back lol. Ida a shame. Ccm was doing so well with durability for the most part. Maybe it's time to stick up on whatever remains or the ft 4 and 5s
  11. This is odd. My right foot is about 1/4 to 1/2 a size smaller than my left and the two tf customs I had done you could see the boots were diff size. I could tell be the holders on the right reached further towards the end of the toe cap vs the left . If they made that adjustment with me you would assume 10000% you should be getting two different sizes skates. Did they come with the right foot with more toe plugs to accommodate for the diff length or did they not even do that? It's obvious they messed up. The scan should clearly show your size difference. Also. Did the store take pics of your foot on the true brannock? They're supposed to. That would be clear as day that ur feet are different sizes. Anyways, I don't see any other option but for true to remake. If they don't. Refund. For the most part, from what I've read True is usually pretty good with remakes. Totally disappointing. Which shop did you go to? I know some shops are way better in communicating with true regarding issues than others.
  12. It will work but unnecessary to have it double sided unless you want it for some reason. A fabric store will have a simple one sided hook and loop. Up to you though this will work but is just thicker bc it's double sided
  13. The thing is no retail skates are a perfect fit. And like you said bc of materials etc modern skates fit quite differently. Imo as long as ur heel is locked when you leave them the way you like them that's fine. I personally never had skates still lock my heel if completey unlaced. The graf skates you compare the jetspeeds to are so different. That era of skates you actually could break in. Modern skates you break ur feet in lol
  14. You skate with the top two eyelets undone? I've never had skates that locked in the heel completely with the top two eyelets undone.
  15. It's not just the foams that are thermoformable the shell is too especially with ccm and true skates. Bauer not as much but ccm and true for sure you can spot heat the area and literally take your thumb and deform the composite material. I find though, that true retails don't get as soft as the svh customs.
  16. So I'm childish because I used the word fuck and said you ruined your skates? Also, if you think I was being snarky and sarcastic with the using your thumb to push it out then you really don't know the options for "punching" out hot spots in modern day skates. You probably also thought I was making something up when I told you to try the "tissue" technique too eh?
  17. Waiting for the post where he got a heat gun and the boot is melted.
  18. Ya you fucked up man. Ccm skates are generally pretty pliable when warm and you should have been able to even use your thumb to press out the area. Or I would've tried the tissue technique first... What model are those, as the pliability on lower end models aren't as good as the higher end ccm skates. Nvm just read you used a blow dryer the first round? Buddy, stop before you damage the skates even more. You have no idea what you're doing.
  19. The loop Velcro on the tongues are trash. Just replace them with better ones.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if all this ends up being Dave developing a skate for Warrior.
  21. Same with me. I prefer the old red blue combo vs the genetix. Prob the worst insoles for me even compared to any stock footbed. Way too thick and squishy. Totally defeats the purpose of a one piece boot and feeling more connected to the ice.
  22. Honestly for rec and beer league that is no contact who cares about that's stupid ratings.
  23. You can modify them yourself or just keep trying different tongues such as ccm xs tongues and Nash sniper tongue etc. All you need to do is attach Velcro to them and they'll attach to your skates. What don't you like about the two true tongues you posted.
  24. This was an informative reply to the OPs question.... To your analogy of not driving or showering at all is bogus. Not wearing a neck guard would be like not wearing your seat belt while driving or something similar in terms of reducing risk while partaking in the activity. Not driving at all would be more like not playing hockey at all. Also, neck injuries in hockey is way under reported. Only ones actually documented are probably the ones that cause severe injuries, and I doubt anything beer league related is even documented. But anyways....
