David Perron

Recommended Posts

David has lately been getting some very positive notices for his physical play: that he's hard to knock off the puck, doesn't shy away, seems increasingly to use his strength as well as his finesse to keep the play going. I looked back through a few pictures, and he does indeed appear to be maturing physically and adding significant muscle mass in addition to learning how to use his body better in the pro game.

Nice to see that side coming out; he never struck me as the skill-only wallflower that some people painted him for.

Very true

He is getting his nose dirty and is showing a much more combatitive style, which in fact is needed right now with the games being almost like playoffs.

Perron is truely emerging as a player that is willing to battle for the team and it is not so much about him anymore as an individual.

He has really shown that he wants to battle as a St.Louis Blue trying to make the playoffs

I have said it before, he has continually shown that as a player he is trying to take his game to the next level

Watching him the last two seasons has been frankly incredible to this point as many nights he is the most entertaining player on the ice and that is not only stick handling.

Also he draws a penalty a game with his diligence.

I found 2 One95 Perron pro stock sticks at Johnny Mac's in St. Peters. I have pattern pics if anybody would like to see them.

Can you post them please?

yet another amazaing game from David last night, 2 big assists on Berglund goals (JR - ask him if that first one was a pass and not a shot - looked like he purposely banked the puck off the back boards around the goal to Berglund)

someone mentioned about him drawing penalites - David is 7th in the league in penalties drawn against with 33 this season

David with the Shootout winner last night agains't Columbus also added an assist now for 47 points on the season. 2nd on the team in scoring.

Oshie is a great player but so is Perron.

And the Blues are now tied with Edmonton for the final playoff spot

Keep it going

Saw his SO winner...on NHLN...(not HD). Kinda grainy...did he kinda whiff it and make it a knuckleball...or did he really Fire it top corner. Either way, 'tendy looked really fooled.

High shot I believe, good shot and beat Mason.

He's getting a bit of reputation with grabbing peoples sticks and diving with them though. I've seen him do it quite a few times this year, again today vs. Columbus. Needs to stop that stuff. Also, if you're going to jump in to a teamate's defense and mix it up, put your stick down, don't cross check a guy in the face because you're pushing him... heat of the moment type stuff yeah, but I don't want to see David get a suspension for something stupid, or have someone run him because he splits someone else's face accidentally.

edit note: sweet goal in the 3rd by David. Sweet deke across the crease to a backhand top shelf.

don't really agree with Oshie running Nash in the first instance, but was impressed with him putting Nash down when he tried to run him in return.

David's goal was very nice!

what don't you agree with? It was a clean hit, Oshie was just finishing his check. Nash is a big boy and should be able to protect himself against someone who is 5'11 185.

The other day on local Toronto radio station The Fan 590, hockey analyst Pierre Maguire raved about the emergence of David as one of the Blues top players over the last couple of months.

He said that David and T. J. Oshie have the Blue's best players over the last month.

Congrats David!

skating half the rink making a bee line right at nash, a little bit of a charging call... the contact was clean though. having watched it a few more times not quite as bad, he didn't skate the whole way

He shot it under Mason's glove & it skipped off of Mason's pants to the top corner...no whiff at all...he ripped it.
