I found this old pic from 1991. The Bear Mountain Bears of Highland Falls were playing the Rangers Alumni at USMA, West Point. Ron Greschner has just given Pierre Larouche the home run pass from the goal line. That would be me, #2, stuck in the mud at the blueline!

Of course, Larouche buried the biscuit.

I know that in my area (San Diego), refs are told to wear visors, but it is not required unless you are under the age of 18.

That looks like a sweet facility, is it partially outdoors?

Yeah, it's covered with a roof but has open-air sides. The sun is a KILLER though. Our game was at 6 and the sun fills one end of the rink and blinds everyone. Check it out -

I'd kill for the city to put a roof over our outdoor rink. It always seems to rain on Sundays.

I would just love an outdoor rink. Although it doesn't get quite cold enough in Vancouver for that. (I'm talking ice, not roller)

They should have a small tarp that can roll down during those times as a sun shade. Other than that, I think I am moving to your area. Keep me a roster spot for next season! Sweet jerseys as well!!

They do have tarps but they don't come down far enough. I wish they would address that. Either that or stop giving us 6pm games. 2 out of 10 games at 6pm is 2 too many.
