Warrior Stick Customizer Program

Recommended Posts

I received my custom Warrior Widow yesterday. Went with a simple/clean look. I had a chance to use the stick yesterday at a pick up session and received a ton of compliments on how "cool" the stick looked. Wasn't sure how the velvet grip would feel, and for someone who uses sticks with grip I have to say I was very impressed and it feels great in the hands.

Here are some specs and pics:

Model: Widow (Senior)

Paint Color : Black

Decal - Top : None

Decal - Middle : Warrior Black

Decal - Bottom : None

Shaft Finish : Velvet Grip

Shaft Texture : Matte

Shaft Flex : 85

Hand : Left

Pattern : Kovalchuk

Blade Finish : Matte

does an intermediate 85 flex and a senior 85 flex have the same feel at the equal lengths? ie if i cut down a senior 85 flex to 58" and an intermediate 85 flex to 58" will one feel stiffer than the other?

i like smaller squared shafts is why I ask.

Intermediate shafts are shorter than the senior length from the get go. So you will have to cut more off te senior length to get it to 58" so that will make it stiffer than an intermediate cut to the same length.

iirc when warrior measures the flex of their sticks they take points 3" from the ends of the stick (on a 60" stick) so flex measurement does not include the extra length.

i suppose my question is, if an intermediate stick is measured in at 85 flex would it not therefore feel the same as an 85 flex senior so long as the flex was measured teh same way, and is there anyone who has tried an 85 flex intermediate?

I know Miseaujeu hasn't been around ina while but maybe he can shed some insight.

what i'm trying to get at is if i had an 85 flex intermediate stick and an 85 flex senior stick at even length, let's say 58", is one stick effectively stiffer or whippier than the other, because the flex should have been measured the same way?

i get that if i had to cut down a senior stick it feels stiffer, but there's never been an 85 flex intermediate stick to compare it to because a 60-70 flex intermediate stick is whippier than a 75 flex senior no matter the length.

also, i have 85 flex AKs, dolos, dynasties, and 75 flex dolos and dynasties. i find 85 flex AKs play just a bit stiffer than a 75 flex dolo/dynasty

 If they are the same flex and the same length they should play the same.

I would assume not since you would only have to cut 2 inches off the INT as compared to 5 off the Senior?

Not sure if it's the same with Warrior, but I've definitely heard that 75 flex intermediate Bauer TOs are a lot whippier than the 77 flex senior TOs, if both are cut to the same length. AFAIK with Bauer the flex rating is based on a 60" length for seniors, and 57" length for intermediates, so if you cut a senior down to 57", it'll play quite a bit stiffer. My guess would be that an 85 flex intermediate Warrior would be quite a bit whippier than an 85 flex senior cut to the same length, although that's totally a guess.

To those who have received a Warrior customized stick, did you have an envelope attached to the bag that the stick came in? I noticed one on my stick, however it was open so I am not sure what should have been inside?

Anyone know?

Perhaps the receipt or copy of the order was in there? I received no such envelope. However, it might have come with my package, I wouldn't know.

Interesting...would be nice to know what was inside. The LHS that I had the stick shipped to opened the box, I assume it was to look at the stick design I had chosen, I wasn't to happy about that. I will contact Warrior just to be sure it wasn't anything important.

How's the Velvet grip now that you've had a bit to play with it? (I swear I didn't steal this line from a porno flick!!!)

Other than the curve I went with this same setup, and usually rock the Easton S19's with grip...

I'm hoping the Velvet grip with still be grippy enough. Ye/Ne?

I use grip sticks all the time and was very pleased with the velvet grip finish. You will be happy with it.

The envelope contains a copy of your order; your name, what shop it was sold to, specifications. The envelope also contained a card from Warrior talking about the process in which your stick was made and that it comes with a 30 day warranty.

Thanks to everyone showing pics of their custom sticks. Keep them coming.

Is everyone happy with the performance and durability of their Dolo customs?

Performance is great. I can't comment on durability though because I haven't used it a whole lot. I've never broken a stick before.

I ordered a replacement for my (still functioning) widow that I got last year with the exact same specs as the original and it came a couple days ago. But it isn't just like the original, there is no black paint on the shaft. The white paint on the shaft now goes all the way down to the blade. At first I thought they screwed up and sent me a dolo, but I'm very happy to see that they now don't include the black bottom of the stick on non-black shafts. I'll get some comparison pics up over the weekend.
