If his status goes to Injured Reserve you can place him on IR... Drag him all the way to the bottom of your bench and there will be an IR slot.

I feel your pain, I have Rinne and Niemi. This week Niemi is an awesome 0-2 with a 4.11 GAA and .892 SV% to compliments Rinne's 0-1, 5.97 GAA, and .733 SV%.
