It took a little longer than expected but the Sabres dump Rolston and Regier and have hired LaFontaine as President of Hockey Operations. They have also brought back old friend Ted Nolan as interim coach. I expect the interim tag to be removed in short order. I also expect, once LaFontaine finds a new GM, a complete overhaul of the roster which will send the Sabres into rebuilding mode.

It was odd that he went from being a Jack Adams winner to not getting a sniff at an NHL job for 15 years.

I forgot about his stint with the Islanders from 06-08 but then most coaching gigs with the Isles have been forgettable during the last 18 years.
