1 mil salary + 1 mil in potential bonus. I think that's a steal. Would also love to see him break Howe's record for career games played.

Say it ain't so haha. After 17 years, Fisher looks to move on the the next chapter of his life. Good for him. Definitely was a pro's pro.

I think this happened over SJ9 weekend: $8M AAV through 2024-25. It does look like Ryan Johansen is coming into his own. It looks like both CBJ and NSH have, and will, benefit from the Seth Jones-RJ trade.

First, as I came across "Saad back to Chicago" headline, I was "you've got to be kidding me", but when articles opened up, I did the yes thing in my mind. While it is sad to loose Saad, I feel that Panarin is a much better fit to Jackets. Not sure how Blackhawks will do out of this, but I am pretty excited to see Panarin in blue. I think he will do exceptionally good this season if he stays.

Title says it all. STL has Colton under contract till 2022. I like the signing as Parayko is a stud who should only get better.

The Edmonton Oilers have locked up their 20-year-old franchise player, as the team announced Wednesday that its has signed captain Connor McDavid to an eight-year, $100 million contract extension. TSN Hockey

The signing we were all keeping an eye on. I don't blame Connor for looking to get paid. I know most people will say it is selfish for him to do so. I say that you've put in the work to put yourself in this position to capitalize on the leverage you hold. It's up to EDM's management/ownership to figure out how divvy out the rest of the money under the cap (which we expect to go up as time goes on). Next up: Leon Draisaitl.

The Dallas Stars continued to load up this offseason by signing one of the top free agent forwards available, Alexander Radulov, to a five-year contract worth $6.25 million per season.

The $31.25 million price tag is the largest contract signed in free agency this summer. NBC Sports - NHL

I heard on the NHL's radio station that MTL offered Rads a similar contract. The issue was that with greater tax liability in Montreal, $6.25M AAV in Dallas would be approx. $8.25M in MTL to get the same after-tax cost. It will be interesting to see how Hitch and Rads work with each other.

I am confused. The Leafs had Auston Matthews, Tyler Bozak, Nazem Kadri and Brian Boyle for center men.

Now they get Dominic Moore and Patrick Marleau, they will turn 37 and 38 before the season starts. Ron Hainsey is 36 and not exactly fleet footed either.

A little late on my part but figured it is worth putting out here. I like the trade overall. I was hoping that the Flyers would have taken a chance on either Tolvanen or Kostin but I can't bash the Frost pick.

I have always been confused by July 1st - 12 pm free agent signings, a flurry of signings shortly after the start. I thought teams were not allowed to contact/negotiate deals beforehand. A few days ago I read an article that teams could contact the player/agent 5 days before July 1st and discuss and negotiate a deal, but cannot finalize until the official start. I am somewhat confused because I thought teams with UFA expiring contracts had exclusive rights ?

Derek Stepan, Antti Raanta traded to Coyotes by Rangers. Arizona acquires center, goalie from New York for defenseman Anthony DeAngelo, No. 7 pick in 2017 NHL Draft.

It looks like the Rangers are selling some what high here. DeAngelo gets to, essentially, come back home. Stepan seemed to trend downward as the season when on last year. DeAngelo has shown offensive promise but still somewhat of defensive liability. Fun stuff leading up to tonight's draft.

I was delighted to see that Ivan Lodnia got drafted by Wild. He is our local, SoCal product. Born into hockey. Probably learned to skate before he learned to flush toilet. I am happy for his father who dedicated his life to the sport. Job well done! I have watched Ivan play a little bit and he is quite a treat. Now, I am adding Minnesota Wild to my NHL watch list.

I guess this means Crawford will be sticking around, and that Lack isn't the answer in Carolina when Ward is done.

Darling and Lack on the same team will make for one of the best looking goalie gear duos in the league, though!
