More play in goal post-op. Getting a bit of my stamina back, though penalty shots in stick and puck are particularly exhausting. Even lopsided play in your own end in goal or half-ice, single goalie play is not quite as exhausting as penalty shot after penalty shot after penalty shot. In the end, I am still having to keep in mind that I have had THREE major surgeries in eleven months and I am only three months post op. So I need to keep this in mind.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere. So, a jump test with force plates? If it's prohibitively expensive, that would make some sense. It would be the only way to really get the kind of accuracy you're talking about with something heel contact. It would also be something that would be fairly straightforward to automate along the lines of something like ReTul that's been done in the bike retail industry. As far as those skate modifications, those were my skates not my son's. He's in more or less stock Makos. Slight modification to the pitch to make them less aggressive, but other than that pretty straightforward. That's my point, I have modified mine based on my own perceptions of what I needed to do to deal with my unilateral valgus. I haven't messed with his other than to provide the best fitting skate (Makos) with loose ankles (he goes two down from the top on Makos... crazy ankle strength). So, he has very good mobility and stride characteristics. Could they be improved? I'm open to the notion, but need to have a quantitative approach so that we know what is being done, why and how to go back. Skating is his strength, but as he rises levels, it's a less distinctive strength, so, need to keep staying ahead of the curve. Anyway, I'll keep my eyes open for more info and developments. Thanks,

I've had bouts with tendinitis in my top hand over the years. It first started with too much mouse usage from gaming and work. And later it would show up after long shooting sessions. One time it was bugging me for around six months, where I could barely grip my hockey stick. For me, I got under control by doing some simple stretching and strengthening exercises for my wrist. I'm not a doctor, but when my forearm muscles get tight from prolonged usage, I'm guessing it pulls the wrist tendon taught and they begin rubbing against something like the wrist bones when I move. That irritates the tendons and makes them inflamed. If I don't loosen the muscles, the tendons keep rubbing. By stretching, it loosens the muscles up and stops the the rubbing. No rubbing, the inflammation goes away. Since I started doing the stretches and exercises, I haven't had a bout of tendinitis, and I haven't changed any of my mouse and/or shooting habits. There were times were I could feel it coming on, like after a couple hours of shooting, but like I said, some stretching and exercise and I was good. I'm about the same vintage as you, and over the years, as I've gotten older, I've learned that I need to be stretching and doing maintenance work all the time, on my shoulder, on my hips, and my wrists. Etc. It's not the case where I do stretches, the tendinitis goes away, and never have to worry about it again. I have to keep doing the stretches and exercises on a regular basis, usually after exercise, to stop it from coming back. Maybe that's something for you to consider. Here's a video of some of the wrist stretches and exercises i do. Hope it helps.

OTG, it was somewhat tongue in cheek, because knowing you as long as I have, I think you are genuine. On the other hand, if you take the two threads together the cynical might infer less genuine intent. If I recall over the years, you have made similar comments to others who have made unsubstantiated claims in a similar fashion. Maybe it would be better if somebody could simply state what these things are CLEARLY and what they are intended to do. The website doesn't make it clear. You alluded to them in response to me in the VH thread, but again, not what they were, just that they made your son a better hockey player without me bringing them up. Others have specifically asked what they are, but all answers have been rather nebulous and point to the fact it's expensive, but...... See what I'm getting at? I'm genuinely curious and have posted comments and observations related to shims etc for years. So, I'd like to know what's going on and what might be possible if they were available to the general public. Thanks,

Well sorry you feel that way. However I didnt start the thread not do I know the person who did. And if i wanted to promote it i would simply as @JR Boucicaut for a promo pack and do so. But honestly I'm to busy to take more clients at this time. I'll I was aiming to to do was to answer questions so that the information was correct. Feel free to have the thread deleted. PS: I was one of the first on this board so I can understand your point.

I almost feel like the video on the page was a parody. Something Charlie from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would record. 😉

I would argue that even with 3D scanning (which in itself is still not all that advanced at the retail level, have to keep the cost down or the product becomes too pricey) and taking into account all of our "advanced technologies" we have to date there is still a slight margin for fitment refinements. Everyone needs to understand a scan is only as good as the person doing it. If that person doesn't follow all of the proper procedures and the scan is compromised then everything else will be as well. For example, if the foot is positioned in the wrong pose when scanning, or you may have foot swelling due to inflammation, or other reasons for a variance in the scan, the scan is thereby going to be slightly off. If the scan is off everything else after that is basically compromised. If the proper procedures are followed usually minor alternations and heating of the skates in the store will allow for the necessary changes to bring the product back within spec. I would venture in the next couple of years we will see specifically made devices that are not using low-level retail hardware + iPad to perform scans. We are very much in what I would consider V1 of this technology at a retail level. Yes, I say retail level often in my reply because everyone needs to understand what a company like SpaceX, Google, Apple, and others may use will be drastically different than what a sporting good manufacturer is going to offer and support without having to substantially penalize the customers pocket. I am sure this will first happen at the pro level, which is where TRUE, CCM, and Bauer started before it will trickle its way down to the general population. Lastly, I am not 100% sure I can consider volume ever to be a fitment issue and rather a personal preference. For example, some people myself included) like to get into the smallest and lowest profile skate possible while others ( a few recent customers) may want or need (medically) wiggle room for their toes. Finding that "sweet spot" where you can provide a product for 99% of the general population while keeping costs reasonable is no easy task.

Making pouches/bags/etc for backpackers and hikers. First product is a pouch made from an ultralight material with a custom printed pattern on it. It's meant for poop kits (trowel, some TP, hand sanitizer, etc.) and has the 💩 emoji printed all over it. I also have some dyneema stuff sacks and stuff I'll be listing. The other thing that's selling really well are softball/baseball belts. I searched for rainbow belts for pride month and couldn't find anything so I made one myself. A guy on my team suggested I put them on my store too even though they aren't really related. They've been selling like crazy!

Well I mean, its basically the same girdle Tackla has had for what, 40+ years? The foams may be updated and stuff though. I always liked the idea of the T1 and the SuperTacks girdles just being wraps, but because I'm a "round" guy, if you know what I mean, I had a lot of difficulty with things staying in place. Stuff had a tendency to shift down because of the belly and the love handles. So I don't think my opinion is going to mean much to you unless you're also that shape. That said, the pads on this thing are huge and... bubbly? Kind of weird. But I definitely like how it fits out of the box. I'll get it on the ice next week maybe.
