Hey, I am wondering if anyone has used one of these sticks before. They have a couple of curves that look fun to try and I am thinking about getting a custom "Super Natural". Are they worth the price for a beer league / drop in player? What is their reputation as far a durability?

For me it was finding the right size skates. After taking a several year hiatus I got a pair of second hand skates from my cousin that I got me back into hockey and that I wore for years cause they didn’t hurt my feet, felt comfortable enough and I just didn’t know any better. Fast forward a few years and I went from wearing a Mission 9E skate to currently a Bauer Supreme size 6EE. Obviously a huge difference.

Great question! Many people think this is just a personality thing that can't be coached, but the truth is that compete level and hunger can be coached. The key would be engage them in drills that promote aggressive, initiating play, and positively reinforcing the behaviour when it happens. Hopefully when it happens the player gets a good result, which will reinforce the behaviour. The player will probably like the result, which will further motivate them to play aggressively in order to seek out that result. At the same time, doing this in practice will build the player's confidence in that style of play, making it more likely to show up games. Confidence issues and being scared to make mistakes could certainly be a possibility here, as some players are very good at hiding these things. It never hurts to ask your players about what they feel their style of play is, and starting a harmless, curious discussion about what that player wants to be like and tweaks to their game they could make in order to get there. Hope this helped!

Do you still have the ls2 holders in the one100s? People complain that the steel can feel loose in the Edge holders after a few years, but if you have the ls2, I’d think you’d be ok unless you’ve put some sort of above and beyond stress on them. Should be able to find some inexpensive Step steel for the ls2, since not many people use that.

I'm currently in protracted discussions with my agent regarding my retirement from hockey 🤣. That being said if things are back to some sense of normalcy I'd be in for SummerJam! I say let this ride for a bit longer unless it's stressing you out, in which case no one will fault you for cancelling the event for 2020.

Great Question DK! I'll keep it very simple for you, sounds like you're focusing more on what you lack than what you bring to the table before games. This is likely why you're feeling anxious! I'd just ask you this, what if you wrote a quick list of 2-3 strengths you bring to the table, and purposely focused on those pre-game? Comparing yourself to everyone around you is just going to take your focus off of what you have to do to perform well, and will increase your anxiety. Try keeping your focus simple and on your strengths, not where you lack or comparing yourself to others

Just heard back from the Devils; they plan for the building to be open on 6/1. So, that's two months before the event.

Like you mentioned earlier Base told me that their "Stiff" blade is the older construction. They were ok, but I found the X-stiff better (more durabile) and the feel isn't much different. If you're concerned about the blade being to pingy, add an extra layer of tape.

I remember BASE recommending the Regular stiffness blades for roller hockey, so I would stick to Stiff or Xtra Stiff for ice hockey.

I've been using them for a long time. Durability is really Good, especially when you get the sharkskin blade. I haven't used the supernatural but the ss10 is great stick. They also have alot of curve options.
