After covid made my current position pretty much obsolete since fans haven’t been able to attend sporting events, I accepted a job offer yesterday after being on the hunt since the summer basically. it’s an entirely different industry to what I’ve been in, but it’s giving me a great pay and benefits package, and as someone who’s turning 30 this year, those things become more and more appealing hah

Reilly isn't the best guy to be looking at to get an idea of how the 100Ks will look, most of the branding and colour pops are covered by his shot blocker additions

Measure his feet or the length of the insole of a well-fitting shoe. Or use a cheap kids foot gauge in mm. And then trial and error. Variable size skates are fine for getting started. If you want hockey skates you should buy more flexible entry level skates. You can buy the skates a little longer, but there shouldn't be more space behind his heel than a normal adult finger when his toes touch the front.

https://jacksonskate.com/collections/jackson-ultima-outfits/products/softec-sport-men-v0 we used to sell a ton of these to kids learning to skate. It’s an easier transition from shoes to these to skates in my opinion. It’s less important to be hockey specific, focus first on skating, balance, and comfort on the ice. They also resell, and hand me down very well. They have a reasonably reliable size guide on the site, and I think you may even find these at Dicks as well

Thinking back to when my son was that age, it is a bit of a crap shoot. There is only so much even the best fitters can "test" for and unfortunately kids that young usually aren't very good at articulating what they are feeling (I feel space here, here is too tight), so the feedback a fitter is used to is not reliable or available. Early on we sourced skates via the used market based on his foot length. It was a bit trial and error for awhile. As he got older, it was easier to narrow in on problem areas with the fit and solve for those. Now (he is 10) we have him pretty locked in and when we do try something outside what he is used to, he can tell me almost immediately whether he thinks it will work or not.

We also tested the Nexus Geo, AS3 Pro, Trigger 5 Pro, and TRUE Project X, all of which ranked high. If you included those in the testing it changed the ranking considerably. I also had time to collect more info from players on some other sticks we tested as well that I originally didn't include. The ranking was as follows with those included: CCM FT3 Pro CCM AS3 Pro CCM FT2 Bauer Flylite Bauer Nexus Geo CCM Ribcor Trigger 5 Pro CCM Trigger 4 Pro Bauer Nexus 2N Pro TRUE Project X CCM AS2 Pro Bauer Ultrasonic Bauer 2S Pro Sorry for the delay in updating this.

If they fit you well everywhere else why don't you take them to a shop and get them stretched? I did this with my Jetspeeds (admittedly I did it at home but a shop can do it just as easily).
