I have a narrower than average heel, heel lock was never an issue for me.
-
The mako is a wide skate?
Remove the tendon guard, heat gun heel area gently, then pinch the area with a towel and your fingers, stop when you are satisfied, you will see how much narrower itll get. Place in freezer for 15min.

RE AKT 75, the safest hockey helmet according to Virginia Tech !
Oh, I dont think you got enough of them true sticks, you should probably buy a few more.
-
Aint no thang like a RE AKT helmet, thing feels simple amazing, words cant describe how happy my head is. I have been using a 9900 / 9500 / 8500 for very long time in a L/XL, but in the RE AKT I am a M.

Finally got my M7's, probably the best skate I will ever buy for under 200$. I was afraid from all the comments that it is a softer skate, but is definitely stiffer than the Mako 1s, and as stiff as the Mako 2. Not a skate for everyone, the low volume boot and the super thick tongue will give you trouble if you have anything over low volume feet. Very lightweight too, only 40 grams or so heavier than the Mako 1.
HM just restocked all sizes in M7 and M8's.

I was in Toronto tis past weekend and took a shot at the team store in the ACC. I ended up getting a pair of Phaneuf CCM Tacks with Tuuk Lightspeed holders/step steel runners that are barely broken in for $282.50 canadian out the door. The guy I dealt with there said that he would wear a pair of skates for 13-15 games before changing them out.
I have heard before that he gets a brand new pair every 2 weeks. Thats just crazy.

Thanks in advance!
The black upper part that wraps around your foot at the very top of the skate, you heat it up, take a cloth or something not to burn your hand and push it outwards to relieve some pressure, its a 50/50 fix, hopefully it works for you.
-
Heat the upper area that bothers you with a heat gun, and try to roll it out gently.

For those using the 5.2 SBP, from reading their website, my understanding is that with the SmartFlex Technology, stick does not get stiffer when cut, it that true?
-
Unfortunately the durability is not there, but the fit is no1 priority for me, hopefully they fixed most of the issues with the 2nd gen of makos.

Still, cant get enough, got a pair of mako 1s, mako 2s, and I just bought the last pair of M7s in my size on HM :) Aiming to have at least 7-8 pairs for the years to come. None of the other brands fit my foot and I dont know when someone will come up with a similar skate, not only do I have low volume feet, I like a very tight fit. Not planning on spending 1000$+ on a pair of VH when I can 3 pairs of makos for that money.

Just realized that every rivet except the copper ones on my Mako1 skates is more or less loose, brand new skates with maybe 10 shinny sessions on them, another bummer.
Same thing as my S17 skates.

What have I gotten myself into again, another Warrior stick.
-HTX 75 Flex E3 - Sticks that I have been using in the past month, by far the stick that kicks the hardest that I've ever used.
-AX1LT 85 Flex (cut 5 inches, feels flexier than the 75 Easton) Yakupov W28 (brand new, blade already has a chunk in it missing on the bottom that has paint over it, prolly left the factory like that )

Depending on the extend of the damage, I would guess that the epoxy would not hold very long. It has never worked properly for me.

Its not a stupid question, we can all be very particular about our equipment. I believe they are exactly the same.
-
The black is actually dark blue. My camera does not pick it up.
-
Got some new socks, any idea what AHL / NHL team they are from?

Without derailing the thread, the HTX are high end sticks. Great sticks i am using them. Buy them if they are cheap.

I have a feeling that in the near future we will only have Bauer / CCM, Warrior is slowly dying here, besides some peeps that still buy a stick here and there. Please do not quote me on this, I might completely wrong, its just an local observation that leads me to believe its the same elsewhere.

For long time, a lot of hockey the stores did not really carry any Graf skates in the MTL area, the few employees I spoke with were not too keen to do business with them. I see maybe 100 Bauer / CCM skates on the ice before seeing a Graf skate, they are really not popular.

Cant see your pics.

I believe he is one of the first guys to get them a few years ago, it was long overdue if you ask me. Happened to me a few times (that and few other factory defects from Easton), still planning on getting the Mako2 if I find them at a decent price.

By bad I meant good, In a way.

Try my suggestion above, it works wonders, you can squeeze the rear to make it narrower or even work it with your hand to make a better wrap and contour around the rear of your ankles, its super easy.
