But the blade is on basically the opposite end of the spectrum compared to the Sync, which has one of the most dampened and softest blades on the market so not sure how puck feel can be similar between it and the Sync.

Right. Ooops - I meant to say more similar feel to the Hyperlite than* to the sync.

  2. Puck feel is great in my opinion - I’d say most Similar feel to the sync which makes sense.
I actually just got a white out version and used it for the first time couple days ago. With the white paint it makes the stick a tad bit heavier but in a great way. With the stick being very well balanced to start - the extra weight gives it the perfect feel for me - would guess it to be around the 370-375g mark. Also the blade on the white out doesn’t have the usual textured finish (just smooth white paint) which adds to the already good puck feel in my opinion.

Thanks for reply. How’s the blade holding up? And how would you say the stiffness compares to say a 1X Lite blade?

Blade has been good. Just the usual cosmetic marks here and there but it’s holding up pretty good so far. IMO it feels like this Proto R blade is a bit stiffer than the 1X lite.

Any updates on Proto R durability?

Generally durability has been better than the Ag5nt for me. I am on my second Proto-R but the first broke because it got in the way of a howitzer of a clapper that would have broken any composite stick out there.
really like this stick. Doesn’t shoot as hard as the FT6 PRO IMO but overall it’s been great including durability (for an elite end stick).

  5. Hello All, for those that work in a hockey shop - I have a pair or OG Hyperlite skates in size 8.5 fit 3 which came with size 280 Tuuk holders. However, I noticed that In all previous Bauer models (both lines) size 8.5 skates have size 272 holders.

first question: did Bauer actually increase the size of the boot for example: a size 8.5 Hyperlite skate is actually bigger than a size 8.5 older model Bauer skate?

second question: would there be any consequences to flipping out the size 280 holders and putting in a pair of 272?

    many thanks in advance!

  6. Yea I saw that sizing table and bought a large size as I wear 8.5 senior skates.
it’s really weird and I don’t understand how wide these clips are …. It’s not even close! It like they were made for a different skate altogether….I’d upload some pix but don’t know how to on this….

  7. Hi All,

Apologies in advance if there is a topic on this already - but I need some help in getting an explanation on these CCM XS Tongues.
So I have a pair of Jetspeed FT4PRO skates and want flip out the stock tongue for a thicker one. I bought a pair of these CCM XS replacement tongues and find that the clips on the tongue (where it attaches to the boot) are way wider than the insert holes on the boot so it won’t fit …..is the distance between each insert hole not standard across CCM skates with this replaceable tongue feature?

Is there a specific XS tongue that will fit FT4PRO skates?

Been using one for a little over a week and you're right, it's a little longer and beefed up. I was surprised at how much I liked the stick. With this trend to lighter and lighter sticks I've often felt disconnected from the stick when on the ice (the Catalyst PX being the worst offender) but I didn't experience that. First stick since the One95 where I'm actually impressed with a Bauer twig.

I was curious to see if this stick would be too light - I guess it’s balanced out right? Also how’s the flex on the stick? Read somewhere that the new material makes it play stiffer than the rating ….

  9. I don’t have an FT5 PRO but have the FT4PRO. If you are wondering about puck feel vs. FT3PRO (I felt same way about the puck feel on the 3) then the 4 has much better feel. So if the 5 carried the blade of the 4 over then the feel will be much better imo.
Don’t have the hzrdus either but I think it’d be too light 375-390 is the sweet spot for me.
I haven’t heard that there is a mid kick version either

Warrior is teasing a new stick. They said it's not from the Alpha line.

Either another LE stick, or they are bringing back a true mid-kick because apparently this stick is about power.

I just saw the twitter feed for this. Very interesting. I really liked the Dynasty HD1.

What is sling tech? I thought it was supposed to be similar to adv but not sure

Slingtech would be hole in the blade that the nexus adv had. Wondering if this Bauer Sling stick is just a refresh of the nexus adv (nexus adv2) or if this is a different family of sticks (read somewhere online) which if it is a separate line - very curious to see what the other specifications/tech/features are ie: shaft shape, kick point etc…
