I put a layer of cloth tape and then the over wrap on top. The other option is to use some 3M glue spray and the put the over wrap on.

It's a conflict of interest since I also own a shop as well. If the customer, who is also a ModSquad member, wants to share the shopping he can. I won't though.

Agreed. I'll let him know. I am not sure if the shop that did the work is gonna replace the boot though for their shoddy workmanship. He said they were quite defensive when he first asked them if they mounted the holders too far forward basically telling him they do it all the time and other shops, and the online community, are overall clueless. I am trying to be politically correct by specifically not naming the shop.

One thing I find interesting is these are. 7.5EE. I know on Bauer or TRUE they would normally be a 272. Why does CCM use a 263 on the same size? 263 for this boot size seems too small.

Yeah, IMO those holders are destroyed and he should seek to get his money back from the shop who did the install. He also should be refunded for the installation too. Can I have him send you the skates to get the holders mounted properly? I am having the guys at the shop check and see if we have another set of 272 holders in stock so he doesn't have to drive all the way back up to Vancouver.

We have the FT490 and FT2 in stock, but are obviously not selling them yet. What do you want to know about them?

I am a huge fan of using lacrosse stick tape. You can find it on Amazon in packs of 10 for about 8 bucks. It's basically a "no name brand" Lizard Skinz.

@JR Boucicaut @Vet88 @oldtrainerguy28 I’m out on vacation currently and a player came to the shop asking for someone to validate if his holders are properly mounted. Apparently, he put 272 holders on a 7.5 skate, replacing the stock 263, and is saying they feel too far forward and he feels like he is falling forward. I would help him out if I was home in Seattle, but I am in Arizona for the next 10 days. I asked him to share some pics and he sent me the one below. To me, they look too far forward by about 1/2" or so.

The paint chips off so I think most everyone is trying to go with a bare metal style.

I tried to do this for a customer myself and TRUE skates are a nightmare to take apart. I also had a customer who wanted to change colors and TRUE told him no.

Correction, new models every other year for each of the product lines.

Better off selling them and getting a new pair done. I have never seen anyone get post-production changes. Ever.

I use thicker washers to push the cage further away too. It helps a ton.

I know you aked JR, but the few people who have been quite happy with them have skated on the Zuperior profile.

Have a customer who wants to order a pair which isnt a big issue but he was hoping for some feedback. I have seen the lower model but not the 7700. Is anyone using them? Good? Bad? I did a quick search and didnt see any good threads.
