  1. I asked a buddy and he said both units can be purchased for 30k. Quite a steep investment but the technology looks very good. I need to see it in person though.
  2. I also go through phases like this and force myself to keep skating. I just consider it a type of funk that I end up going through. I have terrible anxiety and also have mood instability as well, so I assume this is what is part of the problem and not hockey itself. I should also note, I sometimes get this way with other things too. So I know its not specifically related to hockey and hockey only.
  3. There is nothing wrong with that setup you requested. If it works for you, why change it? I only recommend to players changing their profile if there is something that isn't working for them or they want to alter, change, or improve. Example, I recently had a player who bought new True skates and requested his usual 11' radius. He kept catching the toe on crossovers and crossunders. He also felt like the skate was too neutral so we moved him to a combination radius with a forward pitch and also shaved the toe for him as well matching it as close to his old skate blade as possible. He loves the new setup. Google review quote "Skateworks got me fitted with a pair of 3d scanned True. The fit was perfect but the blades felt awkward. Corey and Nick helped identify the problem which for me was “too much steel on the toe” and a larger stock blade radius. The quad-2 shape they suggested is perfect. Local experts help make your skates fit and work right. Thanks /Karl"
  4. Correct, I was only referring to the typical custom process because I was trying to keep pricing as close as possible between CCM, Bauer and True skates. Of course, you can go full custom, but the price then changes dramatically between True and the other brands. Like I said, going custom, regardless of which brand you choose, is going to be better than grabbing a retail skate off the shelf. As long as you pick a skate that matches you skating style you should be fine. Personally, the CCM scanner recommended the AS1 for my foot, which I know for a fact is wrong, and also put me in a size 8D. I wear a 7.25 EE in a Vapor or Jet Speed and the same in True, if you go by measurements. Just for giggles I let CCM build the AS1 as the scan recommended and I found the skate was overall too long and stiff for my skating style. So I think the shop doing the fitting needs to provide some input into what fits and will work best for the player regardless of the brand of custom skate you select. The pair of FT1 skates I had made custom fit like a glove and have been very nice. I will soon have a pair of the Vapor 2x Pro skates when they release and will be able to compare all of the different brands. As it stands right now, I use my true skates more than any other pair I own as they are more comfortable and I get much better edge control with them based on the position they place your foot in.
  5. I dunno about the suit thing, when I get a suit done at a professional tailor I never need to alter it unless I put on a few lbs 😉
  6. They both use the same software to scan. CCM basically takes a scan and prints a copy of your foot and matches it to a retail skate boot and then does a high-pressure mold of the skate around a copy of your foot. True takes the scan and builds the skate from the inside out, around the foot last. Which is better, I think they are both excellent compared to buying any traditional skate off the retail shelf. The best skate is the one that matches your skating style while also proving a good fit. We get many people who come in and ask us whats better, CCM, Bauer or True for custom skates and I always have the same answer, it's whatever you prefer.
  7. What is the MSRP of each machine? The profiling one and the sharpening?
  8. AS1 fits closer to the foot.
  9. They are both entirely different skates geared towards totally different player types and foot types.

  11. I have CAD so I should be able to open either. Send them over.
  12. Very cool. I am down to help out with design and printing as well. I have access to a ton of materials, software, and tooling. Always happy to try and create new things.
  13. Small knob. The handle style was already built by Torch. Maybe you can scan their design and make some improvements to their design. I have always liked their product but its HEAVY! http://www.proxrtorch.com/ If you remove the rubber cover its much lighter, but I think it can be improved upon. https://photos.app.goo.gl/jyPcxQumVb88yNQn6
  14. Would you be willing to share the 3D STL file so I can print one of these as well?
  15. Does anyone distribute ramonedge steel in the US? If not, can anyone get their hands on some? I am looking to test their steel. Thanks!
  16. You get the customers, mindshare, and the subscription service which is where the actual money is made. I doubt they make much of anything in the manufacturing and distribution of their machines.
  17. Have to agree with this as well. We have done plenty of fittings and also have never had this significant of a problem.
  18. I have had all three. The 9K is pretty much the standard for all girdles but is a little bulkier and heavier than the others. Super Tacks is amazing, very adjustable and protective. The Tackla is very nice but not as durable as the others. The mesh seems to wear pretty quickly and I had to reinforce some areas on mine to prevent it from tearing. Have you considered the Warrior QRE Girdle? Ive been using that and love it.
  19. No. The Nexus is more of a variable kick and the Super Tacks is a traditional mid-kick. Look at True SBP sticks, Warrior Alpha, and CCM JetSpeed.
  20. I am so confused, are SMU and Sniper9 not talking or blocking each other?
  21. For $20 I would go with the higher spec pant. Besides the protection and such they will last you MUCH longer.
  22. I still see quite a few pros going tongue out.
