I was surprised/happy with how snug they were for 14" gloves. I'd say they fit closer to 13.5" which is perfect for me.

Yes, I am in a D width 68K. I think the newer Ribcors are wider than the previous generation but I never tried those so I can't say from personal experience.

I had the same issue with the Nexus in terms of it being great for my forefoot but too big for the heel. I'm in Ribcor 68Ks now and I feel like it's perfect. It is nice and tight on my heel and works great for my forefoot.

For those using Step Black Steel on their Sparx, does it require more passes on the first sharpen to get the edge set up than regular steel? I've got fresh Step Black that I'm going to be sharpening for the first time today so just trying to plan for how many passes to make. On fresh LS3 steel I usually do 10 and then put market on the blade and do 2-4 more until it's completely gone. Any one else have other experiences worth sharing?

I hope it works out but I know I wouldn't accept that issue with the carbon fiber on a skate at that price point. Hopefully they are able to make things right for you.

I got the Easton version of this bag on clearance from Hockey Monkey (https://www.hockeymonkey.com/catalog/product/view/id/309587) and really like it. Been using it for 3 or 4 months now without any problems. It has plenty of space for all my gear and I really like the separate compartments for my skates and helmet.

On page 10 of the thread Steve said the following:
"We've tested it up to our "7 years of team use" standard which ends up being somewhere north of 15K normal sharpenings. That number roughly comes from one team of 20, sharpening twice a week, for 52 weeks a year. "

I've sharpened/touched up skates at least 3 times a week every week since February and I've run into no problems at all.

I was happy to see that they've added some additional grinding ring options in the last week or so. I ordered an 11/16" ring which I think will be the sweet spot for me.

I've sharpened a set of LS3 steel from brand new on my Sparx and never had to anything special with risers to avoid any problems.

Agreed, I've had mine a month and a half at this point and sharpened pretty frequently on it and haven't had any kinks. I'd go for one if you are interested it.

Hey Guys. I just picked up some new LS3 steel and want to make sure I'm sharpening it properly from the start. Which of these heights do you think is ideal to use? These pics are with the ring contacting the toe first. Thanks for the help!

How many passes do you guys usually do when switching hollows? I want to give 3/4" a try as compared to my normal 5/8" and just trying to figure out if 10 passes is necessary or if you guys find less will get it done. I will probably do the marker test to be sure but figured I'd ask anyway.

I received my Sparx this week and so far I am very happy with it. The setup was very easy and the build quality of the unit seems top notch. My son and I both skated this morning on fresh sharpenings from it and everything felt great.

My new Easton Pro 10 gloves showed up today. Can't wait to start breaking them in this weekend though my youngest is getting a head start!
