    I’m an idiot.

I have been struggling to find a pair of shoulder pads that I can confidently say I fully like. I have large FT4 pros that are solid but too big so I’m going to give em to my dad. I just bought Medium AS-V Pro NHL Spec shoulder pads (the variant from EU) which seem decent but I don’t like how the sternum guard sticks out of my jersey so I’m selling them. I really want to find a pair of U+CLs as it seems to be the perfect mix of mobility and protection but I cannot find a pair for the life of me. I’m wondering if I should just get the FT6 Pros or stay patient and hope a pair of crazy lights pop up. I always want the “best” gear.

My girlfriend is getting sick of me buying so many different pieces of gear just to determine I don’t like em. What are everyone’s thoughts on the “best shoulder pads”? Has anyone made any successful mods to the newer jetspeed s? Please help as my relationship is on the line.

I have the FT6 Pro shoulder pads, feels very mobile and light like ur not wearing anything.

I had a pair of APX2 pro stock gloves back in the day. Player who wore them clearly had a finger injury as the gussets of the middle and ring finger were cut and the fingers were sewn together.

So that would be my suggestion if you’re taping two fingers together. not exactly reversible tho

I’m trying the stitching first at the moment before I cut, looks pretty sloppy gotta get a professional to do it. Ugh.

  3. Have an injury to my index finger on my top hand (left) been bothering me a lot, I buddy tape my index to the 4th finger but it’s impossible to wear  a glove unless it’s modified. I have a couple pairs i rotate through, thinking of doing the mod myself, I don’t want to ruin the gloves, does anyone have any ideas how to modify gloves to accommodate buddy taped middle fingers.

Not sure why this would go in this thread but sounds like you need to file a claim with USPS, only the shipper can do that, from there they'll try to locate and if you had insurance you;ll get everything back one way or another.  The seller is not out any money as SLS doesn't take their payment until they approve the swap.  You can also reach out to SLS but I've heard they're pretty terrible with stuff like this.  There's a whole thread dedicated to SLS issues on sports2k so maybe someone over there might have more insight (there's a lot of members there that sell a ton on SLS).  One thing.. if you're in Toronto how can you ship with USPS?  Don't you ship Canada Post who them transfers to USPS?  If so I would include whomever actually accepted and was paid for the shipping.

I hit the search button looking for topics on sideline swap, thought I’d post it here instead of a new thread since it’s being mentioned here in some way. But yeah I’m ahead of that the case is being investigated. Thanks .

  5. I’m having a nightmarish issue with sideline swap right now. I sold a pair of personal bauer pro custom sticks on Jan 8th from Toronto and their destination is to some buyer from Lincoln NE. The last update I got from USPS was on January 17th saying sticks are on the way.. made some calls to USPS and they say they don’t know where the sticks location is, the buyer is investigating this as well, she purchased these sticks using up her whole monthly wage for her son who’s left with no sticks and cant afford to buy him a stick and she’s not even cancelling the order because she doesn’t want to screw me over. I’ve sold  a stick before on SLS and it got to its destination fine and I got paid. They are holding a big sum of money that’s supposed to be released to me. Had to sell them to pay some bills. Does anyone have any ideas of what must have happened to the package?

  6. Hey boys, I started up with in-line last year and unfortunately there’s a tournament coming up that’s going to be played on a polished concrete surface, I’ve been having difficulties slipping loosing balance, I don’t mind a nice slide when turning im 5’9 and about 190 a friend recently traded over some konixx +2 blue wheels but I’m being told by a few teammates those wheels aren’t meant for polished surfaces. I’m skating on missions with marsblade mounted and yeah I regret putting marsblades on them but it’s what it is .. could use some proper advice from inline experts over here.

  7. Hey boys,

I’m a 75 flex p28 user, and I’ve been trying to shoot off the toe but none of my current sticks seem to be working for that type of shot. Is it an issue with my technique or do I have the wrong sticks for that? I remember when I had an Easton htx I could snipe from the toe from anywhere and they would be accurate lasers.

When I'm doing a lot of edging drills, with lots of reps, I get the same rubbing. To address it, I added some felt padding. It's made from a cut up felt insole that I got from the dollar store. I use double sided velcro tape to attach it, so I can take it out and/or reposition.

Before, when I was experimenting with the padding, I simply taped it onto my leg over my sock using sock tape. I ran the tape once around the ankle and then down under my foot and back up. That last part is important so the padding doesn't move upward and fall out.

Another trick I'd use, when the rubbing wasn't so bad, was to put a piece of duct tape over my skin on that area. It'd protect the skin from blistering. Though if you've got some hair down there, you'll have to deal with the consequences of removing the duct tape after.

Any ways, here are some pics.

Not worried about hair but peeling off the scabs when taking the duct tape off..ouch.

  9. I tried dr scholls gel pads alone and it didn’t help my situation, then I layered some stick tape ontop of the gel pad and still no difference. This is only happening to my right ankle, no issues on my left whatsoever. I recently got these custom ft4 pro skates couple months ago, first 10 sessions on these skates I wasn’t having any issues until just two weeks ago the cutting started. I’m on the ice 3-4 times a week and the cutting is getting worse. I’m thinking to Lace up with a sponge on the ankle area inside the boot. Will this do the trick ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. 455-BB688-59-DD-41-D0-91-B4-0-A6-EF5-F2-3-F61869-B-47-A0-4712-85-EB-AE9006618-D5

I recently upgraded to AS-V Pro's and have had a few skates and games on them. Overall, skates feel quite nice and fit is great, other than the upper ankle area, where I experience quite a bit of "digging". I believe this is caused by the stiffness of the boot not allowing me to lace the upper section tight enough, causing a gapping issue around the edge. I have tried tightening them as much as I can, but I then start to experience lace bite on the arch of the tongue.

Since I am within my 90 day return window, i was thinking of ordering a set of 100K Pro to compare as they are what I was actually thinking would fit me best (couldn't find any local). My only concern is, AS-V Pro seem to have a lot of volume for the size. I am coming from a set of Supreme MX3's in an 8 EE, and I managed to fit into a 7.5 Regular in the AS-V which was quite surprising.

Does anyone have experience with AS-V Pro vs 100k Pro? I am thinking to order either an 8 Wide as I've read elsewhere that the AS-V Pro seem to be a more voluminous fit comparatively to CCM's other lines.

Any input or experience would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone has other ideas about the AS-V Pro ankle issue, I'm all ears to suggestions.

About “digging” do u mean chaffing ? If that’s what you mean I get that too at the exact spot on the outside of the upper ankle area with my ft4 pro. It only happens with my right ankle. I tried using dr scholls gel pads but those things won’t stick after a shift.

Bauer marketing has me believing they've added a layer of something in the blade and the carbon somewhere is thinner or wider or otherwise more productive... can anyone who used or has the previous nexus stick also using the Sync who can feel any sort of difference?

I asked the same questions about the true Hzrdus stick, now I regret even asking after I went out to try it myself. 🙈🫣
